|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Located on the left bank in Saint Germain des Prés near the St. Sulpice Church, you are in the ideal place to visit and enjoy the museums, parks, shopping, and night life of Paris. By living in the center, you can easily walk down to the Seine to visit Notre Dame, the Louvre or the d’Orsay Museums, walk through the Latin Quarter, and relax in the Luxembourg Gardens. Gourmet shopping is next door with the Bon Marché Grande Epicerie and the Saint Germain Market only two blocks away. Five buses stop in front and three metro lines are within one block.
The ground floor Studio is in a 1700's building and was renovated last year. It is large, quiet, and opens onto an isolated back garden shared with a couple of artist studios.
Françoise and David, the owners and managers of the apartment, live in the same building. They bought and renovated the apartment in order to have space for family and friends visiting Paris. They have rented the space whenever free through VRBO since 2005.
Owner purchased this condo in 2004
We have many regulars that come once or twice a year for their 'Paris stay'. People are never surprised when they first see it, as the photos and description are accurate. We have been receiving wonderful reviews for years from the now hundreds of people that have stayed there.
Its ground floor, no stairs. Its quiet. Its clean. Its fully equipped. ITs well decorated. Its secure. In the nine years of renting we have never had a security incident, nor have our neighbors. You can walk out of the back door into a large, unique, hidden courtyard, planted with trees and flowers.
We stayed in this apt. for 9 days with our 9 year old. We had an amazing
trip. This apt. had everything we needed - to the detail including
umbrellas, even some crackers and coffee left from the last visitor which
we really appreciated! We loved the list of recommended restaurants,
cafes as well as which to avoid! We got the recommended baguette from the
local boulangerie almost every day (that with the stove top espresso
maker, jam and butter from the local grocery…we were set)! We went
everywhere from this location, we saw so much, we could walk or took the
metro which was very close. My husband even went to a service at St.
Sulpice to hear the organ. There are tons of amazing boutiques right out
the door, as well as a wonderful chocolatier and cafes everywhere. The
Luxembourg garden was a short walk where our son sailed a boat and played
in the children's area, he loved it. The only tiny concern was that the
apt. felt a bit dark because it was on the bottom floor. The design and
use of space was beautiful.
We stay here EVERY year! Why? It is on the ground floor; it is very secure; Poiloine is just around the corner; Le Bon Marche is two blocks away; the Orsay & Louvre are within walking distance; no less than six bus lines are within a block; metro lines are one or two blocks away!!! I could go on and on but the fact we stay HERE every year speaks for itself. The owners live in the same building and you deal with them directly.
My husband and I recently stayed in this apartment while in Paris for a week. There were so many features that we loved about this rental : This updated apartment was clean, bright and had every convenience that we needed; the small refrigerator was more than adequate and the apartment was warm as toast; the street entrance and entry area to the apartment were safe and well lit; the double bed was ultra comfortable and the bed linens were top quality. Francois was delightful and helpful and there were many guide books to use as references during our stay. In addition, Francois and David left helpful notes about their personal " favorites." The washer and dryer were easy to use and the apartment was quiet. The apartment was as presented in the VRBO description of amenities and photos. The location was a PLUS.. Close to a Metro (St. Sulpice) and within walking distance to just about everything... Restaurants, cafes, bakeries, theatre, shopping. There were always people on the street, but it was never overcrowded or frenzied. If you want to live in a true Parisian neighborhood, this apartment is for you
The apartment is the best of everything! Excellent location, excellent use of space, lovingly appointed....I stayed with my mother for one week and there wasn't a single thing lacking. The washer and dryer were easy to use (it didn't take 9 hours to do a load of laundry like most European washers) and it so great to have. The space is very comfortable and even more spacious that the photos look. I cannot imagine coming back to Paris and not staying here. The apartment is just two blocks to the St. Germain and two blocks to the Bon Marche. Excellent restaurants within easy walking distance, I especially liked Le Feronnerie and Cafe Louise (reasonable priced and great service). Francoise is absolutely lovely and you can tell that she took time and care in appointing the apartment. Most importantly to note the sofa bed is the most comfortable one I have ever slept on, was more comfortable than my regular bed at home and it meant my mom had her own roon and I had my own room!
We have been fortunate to visit France for each of the past 15 years. Paris is always "home base" with day trips (via train) from there. Several years ago we found this wonderful apartment and always returned. First of all, we appreciate the security. To enter the building you need a security code. After a long entry way, you come into an inner court yard. To enter the rear of the building you have addition security ... then finally a key to your apartment (on the ground floor). We appreciate having the wall safe for passports and cash. The bedroom, kitchen, living room and bath room are exactly as pictured. The washer and dryer are beneficial for longer stays. (We have stayed up to 4 weeks at a time). With respect to transportation, there are several bus stops immediately out the front of the building and two more bus stops a half block away. One metro is also a half block away with a second metro within two blocks. On a typical morning, I walk to Poilone for fresh bread and on to a boulangerie for our morning croissant. (This takes no more than ten minutes). The following are easily within walking distance: St Germain des Pres, Cafe Flore, Les Deux Mogots, St Sulpice, the Orsay, the Louvre, Notre Dame and (our favorite at the end of each day) ... Luxembourg Garden. Francoise and David have always made us feel welcome and addressed our every need.
My husband and I stayed in this lovely place for two weeks and loved every minute. It is in an ideal location, and the apartment is exactly as pictured. It is on the first floor overlooking a small patio and is very quiet and peaceful. We were able to walk to all the major sights although the metro is nearby. Francoise and her husband live nearby and were most helpful. The apartment is attractive, well maintained and the small kitchenette is outfitted for cooking; however, there are many bakeries, cheese and wine shops, and grocery stores nearby for delicious take out foods. We would highly recommend this for a couple or a small family.
