The inner garden near the house, separated from the outer garden by a low wall, features areca palms, gardenias, plumeria, ornamental grasses, crotons and other local and indigenous, drought resistant plantings, along with a peaceful, minimalist fountain, all xeriscaped for maximum water conservation.
The back terrace and swimming pool, with borders of fishtail palms, areca palms, christmas palms and eugenia, are very private and receive full sun exposure. The swimming pool is classic and rectangular, and features mosaic tiles and plentiful in-pool seating at the two ends. There is also an outdoor shower, outdoor lounge and dining furniture, sun umbrellas and a beautiful built-in barbeque and wet bar, all making for comfortable outdoor living.
The property is within walking distance of numerous shops, restaurants and cafe's, including Barnes and Noble, Sports Authority, Starbucks, Whole Foods, Panera, California Pizza Kitchen, etc., and a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive to the center of Wilton Manors with its restaurants, bars, cafe's, shops, etc.
The beaches of Fort Lauderdale and Lauderdale by the Sea are a 5 to 10 minute drive, and Haulover Beach in North Miami is a 25 - 30 minute drive.
Downtown Fort Lauderdale, including the Las Olas, Himmarshee and Sailboat Bend neighborhoods, as well as the River Walk, are no more than a 5 to 10 minute drive or a 30 - 40 minute walk. Miami and South Beach are 45 minutes, Sawgrass Mills 30 minutes, and Everglades National Park and the Florida Keys are all reachable for day trips.
Spend days and evenings at the pool and cook and BBQ at home, or sample the many local restaurants and cafe's. Wireless Internet, cable TV, and a sound-system docking station are provided. The property is in a quiet, safe, residential neighborhood and can accommodate up to 6 guests. Out of respect for our neighbors, we are not available for parties or group gatherings. There is no smoking inside the house, but smoking outdoors is fine.
