Dating from C.1800, Mill Cottage faces South in a sublime rural setting, surrounded by gardens and overlooking unspoilt pasture land. It is part of the old miller's house which stands adjacent to the former water mill, forming a completely self-contained private dwelling with its own secluded cottage garden. A wonderful, peaceful retreat from which to explore the Cotswolds and Shakespeare country. Ideal for those who love the countryside, and want to stay in a traditional Cotswold house with features such as flagstone floor, window-seats and shutters. The surrounding gardens are a magnet to wildlife - particularly birds - and our own sheep, geese, hens, dogs and cat provide further interest - especially for children!

In a truly rural setting, Salford Mill and Mill Cottage stand on their own in a valley which lies between Chipping Norton, 1½ miles to the East, and an ancient ridgeway running towards Stow-on-the-Wold to the West. Set well back from the A44 at the end of a long driveway, the cottage is close to the typical North Cotswold villages of Over Norton, Churchill, Kingham, Oddington and Bledington, and within walking distance of the little village of Salford. Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Evesham, Banbury, Woodstock, Oxford and London are within easy reach by car.

Mill cottage is fully centrally heated, double glazed and furnished and equipped to the highest standard. We provide not only all linen, towels etc. but plenty of little extra touches to make you feel at home. The farmhouse-style kitchen, fully equipped and modern, displays lots of period features. Take a rest in the window-seat, the sun on your back, while you admire the sheer size of some of the old flagstones! On the table you will find a small collection of 'goodies' to welcome you. Upstairs are the comfy bedrooms, each with it's own character; and the bath & shower rooms with their carefully planned modern facilities.

In the sitting room a wood burning stove will keep you wonderfully cosy and warm during the colder weeks. Here, for your convenience, we have installed a P.C. with broadband internet access. Built of local honey - coloured stone, the cottage stands in 3.5 acres of land, which includes a small holding where we keep poultry and sheep. The lovely garden comprises lawns, borders, trees, roses and herbs.
