You will not find a better rental on the River

Seriously, the Delaware River is 300 miles long, but if you hang out at any other spot you are simply asking for crowds and bug bites. This is one of the nicest houses I have ever been in, much less stayed at. You can see how clean and fancy it is from the pictures, so I'll focus on the other stuff. We came up from Maryland for the weekend and gathered up our NY/NJ/PA friends. Everyone found it to be an easy, mostly traffic free drive from all directions.
You need to go to Ringing Rocks State Park (1 mile west) and bring a hammer. I won't spoil the really neat surprise. There are several bikes if you want to cruise up and down the canal towpath which is several miles long and just a few hundred feet away. We spotted a heron, 14 turtles, 4 ducks and a half dozen bullfrogs.
The main reason I chose this place was that it sits directly on the river (seriously, the deck across the road is over the river). While the house did have a canoe, kayak and several tubes, we brought our own craft. We parked a car at the Musconetcong River mouth in Jersey and floated back to the house in ten tubes. It was an awesome and scenic 3 hour trip. You pass the Nockamixon Cliffs for about a third of the journey and we saw a bald eagle. Even on Memorial Day the water was refreshing, not bone-chilling. We went for a couple of swims too. If you bring a canoe or kayak, you can easily make a much bigger journey. Bull Island State Park is about ten miles downstream and could be made in just a few hours.
Be warned however, that if you do rent this place your friends and family WILL expect you to do it every year from now on. Overall it's a great value, so I guess there is no harm there.
