Gorgeous Views and Rustic Charm on Scenic Candlewood Isle

Direct lakefront access (private dock in the summer/early fall, lakeside deck in the fall), large master-suite with spectacular lake view, walk-in cedar closet and adjoining master bathroom, two guest bedrooms, open kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, large deck with barbecue and picnic table, lakeview balcony off dining area, washer/dryer, dishwasher, dvd player, cable and wi-fi access, stereo with ipod dock, rainy day games, in-house dvd & book collection. Vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, stone fireplace. Master suite accessed via spiral staircase.

Enjoy access to Candlewood Isle's clubhouse (10 minute walk) with beach, large children's playground and tennis courts. Nearby activities include the CT Wine Trail, Green Chimneys Farm and Wildlife Center. Multiple hiking trails at beautiful Squantz Pond Park, antiquing, shopping and restaurants in the quaint towns of New Milford, Kent, New Preston and Sherman.

Some Useful Facts: Our property is kid-friendly, but we recommend parents keep children under supervision at all times when outdoors as there is a very long stairpath to the lake as well as a spiral staircase that is the primary access to the master bedroom. We also have a high chair and a 'pack and play' on the premises for newborns/infants. We do not recommend our property for handicapped or infirm, as it is not wheelchair friendly. No pets, please.

Sleeping Accomodations: The house sleeps 6 people with the maximum addition of one small child (ages 3 and under).

A boaters dream

Melissa was very pleasant to work with, providing cheerful, helpful, prompt, communication & customer service.Ideal lake for boating, fishing,swimming, tubing, island hopping, etc.Kayaks provided were fun to try.Pole extensions on dock were a big plus to secure our boat. Great having linen & towel provisions.Super stocked kitchen with a beautiful view of Candlewood Lake.House clean & comfortable.Updated with warm homey touches of welcome.Included current electronic entertainment equipment.Stores close by, but far enough away to enjoy a wooded country get away.Graduated path to the lake provided a great exercise and a lovely house to come home to. A very enjoyable vacation -- thanks Melissa & John :)

What a lovely home!

My family and I stayed at Melissa's great house for 3 days while attending a wedding. It was so nice to be able to visit with each other in our own house with a living area, instead of sitting on beds in hotel rooms. Melissa is the ultimate hostess-she has thought of everything! "Oh, it's raining out--do you think there is an umbrella in the closet? Of course, there are two!" The house has amazing new European plumbing fixtures, which are good for the brain--you wonder "how does this work?" The house was clean and beautifully maintained. It was a great stay and I highly recommend it!

Views of Candlewood Lake from the Living Room, Dining Room and Master Bedroom just take your breath away. Set on a slope, the house has a generously sized great room, perfect for lots of guests and cordial visiting, admiring the view or enjoying a fire in the stone fireplace.
Decks lead to the steps right to the lake for boating, swimming or sunning.
The area offers great variety in restaurants, our favorite was in Kent, a picture-perfect town nearby which also has a excellent hiking area. There is also lots of charming shopping especially book and antique stores.
The owners were very cooperative and considerate. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives.

wonderful weekend!

6 women rented this house for my sister's 60th birthday celebration. the house is incredible, the views unbelievable and the owners of the house have made it a wonderfully warm and inviting home away from home!
we are all planning on coming back with the rest of our family as soon as we can come up with an excuse for a holiday. (or just a free weekend)!
