Notice there are no roads to the South of us-- it is all STATE FOREST! :) We are on our own 20 forested view acres too. Yet it only takes 10 min. to get to downtown Sequim and 15 min to reach Port Williams beach. The Olympic Game Farm (aka 'drive-through zoo'), with it's amazing up-close wildlife including bears, etc, is only 20 min away. Very near the Game Farm and also just 20 min from us is the Dungeness Spit. At 5 miles long it is the longest natural sand spit in the US. Yet we wonder if you will want to leave the property as there is so much to do here!

Additional information about rental rates

  • We're new to renting our castle- & just learned abt a booking fee of $200 instead of 1/2 total bill!
  • (if a family member is in town- ) MORE Luxury Castle time costumes available for pictures for an extra charge per costume - there are over 100 mostly custom costumes to choose from already in the bedrooms closets.
  • By written prior approval, & fee PER pet, (only 2, Kind? breed? ) we MAY approve your pets for the ONE special pet place in the castle- if you would be too pained to leave your pets home. This area is not carpeted, but in the house, fenced back yard for their day play. As some of our OWN family have allergies, (& some guests too) then if ANY sign or smell of pets is found in any other area of the castle- your whole damage/cleaning deposit may be forfeited. :( --

  • Extra large mirror for 3 people at the sink in the upstairs family bathroom. The washer and dryer are the NEW HE Maytag that does the STEAM REFRESH :)! The two family bathrooms have the toilet/tub areas divided from the sink/mirror areas by a door so more people can use the facilities at the same time. :)

  • 7 castle bedrooms, all with bedside tables/lamps-- many with rockers and all w. wonderful furniture & decor! Plus these other sleeping places BEYOND the 7 bedrooms 1. Princess Tower- twin air matt on cot.(spiral stair prevents reg. bed) 2 view wind., lamp & antique spinning wheel. 2. Kid/singles fun 'A' shaped attic ceiling/walls (6 ' at peak). floor shape =upside down T. a. princess bed with East view opening window, table & lamp, b.North Ocean view opening window=, 2 beds with a tbl & light between them, c. South a sky light (doesn't open) , 2 beds with a table & lamp between them + more space on floor for sleeping bags? 3. There are 3 full size couches and one love seat (child?) in the castle that are ok for extra sleepers 4. There are two *VERY rustic* 'bunk' beds in the dungeon with air mattresses for any brave hearts :) or on the lg rug? 5. The Library has a large bay window seat with a little padding, plus the floor is nicely carpeted.

Notes: Every room in the house (except the dungeon) has natural light windows & cross currents work great for cooling in case it may be desired. All inside walls, ceilings, floors are insulated. Each room has a wall mount electric heater = each room can be the temperature desired. Oceans moderate climate so it's rare to wish for air conditioning, yet we can just lower the shades on hot summer days, then open the windows when it is cooler outside & use fans provided. The wood stove keeps the living areas comfortably warm, & preheats the water. We also provide several lap robes to snuggle babies, & cooler blooded or seniors. The sewing desk in the craft room/ the dining room, kitchen and family room- ALL have windows to the fenced back yard to help keep an eye on the kids :) - The intercom system also lets you push a button to 'listen' (in rooms that have not turned their monitors off), or if the monitor button is depressed position IN the room it broadcasts any sounds -baby awake noises? :)

COSTUMES for family pictures come with the castle!: There are 170 costumes (I've made costumes for years for our local theater and rented my costumes for others) including boots and accessories-- mostly of castle times, in sizes from infant to 4X. It is a chance to experience the romance of castle living WITH modern amenities! We hope to have more pictures of our family & friends in costumes on our web page soon. If you send me pictures of your family in costume-- maybe we will get them up too.

Great for Holiday Family Reunions: Grandparents can invite their kids and grand kids! Activities for ALL ages! We have Halloween, Christmas, and Thanksgiving decor that you can put up, or just keep the Castle theme by its self. Tell your family stories as you sit around the fireplace or read from classic fairy stores, or watch classic videos. There are THREE TVs and players!

We cater especially to families.: As we had five children ourselves-- our home was built for our family and then we did Foster care for 10 years when our children were grown. We built the castle to be easy and convenient to keep children safe with the minimum of things to watch out for safety or getting ruined or dirty. Hence the wainscoting and the built in one leg breakfast bar stools etc. If you bring or buy in town, disposable plates, cups and tableware-- it will be even MORE of a care free time for Mom and the kids-- no dishes to wash!
