Ski:
DODGE RIDGE
Dodge Ridge has been a family favorite (family-owned, too) for Bay Area and Central Valley residents since it opened on the western slopes of the Sierra in 1951. There's good skiing and riding for all ability levels, with 20 percent beginner terrain, and 40 percent each for intermediates and advanced. The long Stagecoach run (two miles) is a signature. Snowfall is reliable as the resort's trails average between 300-500 inches of snow each year. The base area features a 16,000-square foot family lodge.
YOSEMITE BADGER PASS
Since its opening in 1935, the Badger Pass Ski Area has been a favorite vacation spot for generations of skiers. Today, California's original ski resort in the spectacular Sierra Nevada is still an ideal place to learn to ski. Badger Pass is a one-hour drive from Yosemite Valley on the Glacier Point Road. A free bus leaves daily from Curry Village, the Ahwahnee Hotel, Yosemite Lodge, and the Wawona Hotel.
Golf:
Pine Mountain Lake Golf Course, one of the Top 15 Best Courses to Play in Northern California, is an 18-hole championship course available for public play and tournaments. Our challenging 18-hole, 6,382 yard, par 70 course offers you breath taking views of the majestic mountain peaks of Yosemite as it winds through picturesque oaks and pines. Pine Mountain Lake, at 2,800 feet, is above the smog and fog. We have over 300 sunny days each year. Winter daytime temps average in the 60's and summer daytime temps average in the 80's. Spring and fall temps are usually in the 70's. Winter snows are light, allowing us to enjoy the snow's beauty without the bother. Roads are open year round.
The course, designed by William F. Bell, opened in 1969 and is always in excellent condition.
