About Giusy

I am Italian, born in Tuscany - Siena. I lived in Rome and London for most of my life. I purchased the apartment in Rome in 2000, and I have fully refurbished it twice (in 2000 and 2006). I lived there for 3 years beginning 2002 and loved every single day being able to walk everywhere and to sightseeing the beautiful Rome - which I consider a open-air museum.

At current, I live and work in the U.S. - with my husband Stefano, who is also Italian.

Giusy purchased this apartment in 2000

Why Giusy chose Piazza Navona

I always loved Campo dei Fiori in Rome. It is a beautiful square, where cars are not allowed. It hosts a farmer market every day, since 1490! It is a open air museum, where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine, coffee, for hours and hours...and just steps from Vatican, Forum, Navona Suqare...I never needed to use a car during my stay in my Rome apartment.

What makes this apartment unique

I choose this loction because it is a quiet spot. Via dei Cappellari is a walking street. The apartment is located in a private building with a court-yard, a beautiful setting. Thus it is quiet, secured, private...yet steps from the most lively sights in Rome

Guestbook comments from the manager

Hello Giusy:

I can't thank you enough for the use of your apartment in Rome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Cory was wonderful. He was a delight and very thorough in reviewing everything we needed to know.

The location was PERFECT. We utilized the market, the food and wine shops, patissceria, flower stalls, and restaurants. If it weren't for visiting all the wonderful sites in the city we wouldn't have left the apartment or neighborhood.

You were a pleasure to work with in helping us arrange for our stay.

Let me know if you are in DC. Would welcome the chance to meet you.

Thanks again.

Molly

Beautiful Apartment, Excellent location and 5 Star Service

  • 5 of 5

Cory and Guisy provided us with an immaculate, well-appointed and stylish place from which to explore Rome. Although the apartment is located steps away from the bustling Campo di Fiori, we were able to duck into our peaceful courtyard at any moment to escape and rest in our lovely apartment. It was like having a key to Gramercy Park.

The market was full every morning with the smells of fresh bread and bursting with flowers even in December. We bought a tiny tree for our apartment just in time for Christmas Eve. The best pizza and bakeries were located in or near the square of Campo di Fiori We loved Roscioli Bakery for picking up pastries in the morning but the Roscioli restaurant was full every night. I wish we had made reservations. The reviews were fantastic and it looked cozy and full of locals.

One of our children wasn't feeling well and Cory could not have been more helpful. He checked on us frequently offering help finding a doctor.

The notebooks and guidebooks in the apartment were so organized and full of great suggestions. Wifi worked really well. We loved that each bedroom had a bathroom. Booking and checking out were a breeze.

We will definitely rent from Rome for the Holidays again and would recommend this group to anyone traveling in Italy.

Great location, comfortable and well appointed

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time in the apartment just off the beautiful Campo di Fiori. Everything in the lovely apartment was as described, the location was amazing and we enjoyed slices of delicious pizza from Forno nearly every day as well as the fab daily market. Guisy was easy to deal with and the apartment was comfortable, clean and everything worked! You can walk everywhere and shops and supermarket are close by. We would love to return one day and stay longer. Thanks so much for a great stay.

Great Apartment In A Great Location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I and our two teenagers stayed at this apartment for three nights in June 2014. It was our first time in Rome and we were very happy with the location and the apartment. It is indeed literally just a few steps away from Il Forno (simple but incredible bakery) and the market square, with very short walks to Piazza Navona, Pantheon, etc. Also, we had very reasonable walks to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Venezia, Circus Maximus, Roman Forum, and beyond. The Vatican is also within walking distance. We always felt safe.

Giusy and Cory were very helpful, responsive, friendly, professional and easy to work with from start/booking to finish/check-out. Email communications were very clear.

The apartment is in a gated rectangular courtyard. Just a few steps to enter. The layout was perfect for us. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and the two bedrooms are separated by the kitchen/living area. I would stay here again. In fact, disappointingly, the Cunningham is already booked and thus not available for the dates of our return visit in 2015.

Amazing stay in the most lovely and central apartment in Rome!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is part of a converted monastery and is located between piazza navona and campo de fiori. Very suggestive and the location could not be better! We never have to drive; we walked everywhere from there. Two very nice bedrooms and bathroom. Total privacy for 4 and can sleep up to 6. plenty of restaurants all around, and the famous flower market is right there!! the owner and the manager were both available on the phone and in person at all times in case of need. and they also were able to recommend best places in town and help arrange a trip to the amalfi coast. unforgettable vacation. thank you.

Fantastic Apartment Near Market

  • 5 of 5

my family of 5 (2 adults,3 teenage boys) stayed in Guisy's apartment for 4 nights. Prior to our arrival Guisy and her manager Cory communicated via email efficiently and promptly. we met Cory at the meeting point on time and he was thorough in explaining the apartment and all the details! the apartment was perfect for our family with comfortable beds and modern conveniences. we cooked a few meals in the well-stocked kitchen and even ate lunch outside in the courtyard. it is very quiet with a private gated entrance and is centrally located to the best tourist sites! if we ever return to Rome (and we hope to!) we will definitely stay in the "Cunningham" again!

Great Location!

  • 4 of 5

This apartment is in a great location to grab a bus, or taxi, but also in walking distance of Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, the Vatican, etc.

The proximity to Campo de Fiori, and it's 7 days a week market is absolutely fabulous to pick up some fresh fruit, spices, and just about anything else. It's a very vibrant area, and we felt safe at all times. It was great having a kitchen in the apartment to fix a quick morning breakfast and to make a cup of coffee.

Best location in Rome: Walking distance from any sight, restaurant, bar, shopping, you can get in Rome. Yet best quiet location. I bought the apartment because I could sleep so well in the private courtyard off Campo dei Fiori

Like many streets in the area the Via dei Cappellari gets its name from the profession of a number of its inhabitants, in this case the “hat-makers”. The palace where the apartment is located (Number 13) was owned by The Tebaldeschi family who owned various palazzi in the street and whose coat of arms, a rose, can still be seen on the Via dei Cappellari no. 13. The building in front, with loggia and tower, was also owned by the Tebaldeschi. The Italian poet Pietro Trapassi, aka Metastasio, was born in the house underneath the arch (no. 29), as a plaque testifies.
