It's a beautiful place in the center of Rome
I enjoy walking in Trastevere and visiting important monuments
My wife, son 13, daughter 11, daughter 5, Mother-in-law and I stayed here for 1 week. It was a delight. Angela and Elisa are wonderful hosts. We arrived a bit early and Elisa was quick to accommodate us. We quickly figured out our way around using the Rome Transit system. City blocks are short in Rome in comparison to city blocks in USA. Both stops are really a short walk. The most convenient is the green tram that drops you off in Largo Argentina, a transit hub for many routes. The nice thing is that we were so close to everything yet in a family quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the center of Rome. We were very comfortable in our apartment and as a chef I can tell you the kitchen works well. We would go to the local market to pick up fresh meats, fruits and vegetables and I would cook just about every night. It was relaxing, we would go sightseeing during the day and arrived tired in the evening to a quiet home. It was great for Mother-in-law since she does not do stairs that well. Figuring out the transit system and eating where the locals eat is the key to a great time in Rome. Angela and Elisa's charm really makes one want to write a wonderful review. They went the distance to make our stay wonderful. I used to stay in Piazza Navona but realized this neighborhood is better. Elisa, I threw my coin inside Trevi fountain that means we will be back to Casa Glorioso :-). Alex
We spent two weeks at Casa Glorioso and greatly enjoyed it. A good space - bedroom dark and comfortable, spacious lounge and dining area, a good kitchen and a small outdoor area. Excellent wi-fi. It was ideal forthe two of us.
There are ample supermarkets, restaurants and shopping nearby, two bars close by, 7 minutes walk to Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere with restaurants and night life.
Tram and bus routes are close and convenient. Angela and Elisa were prompt with their contact and easy to do business with. We will certainly stay at Casa Glorioso when we return to Rome.
Spent five weeks in January/February 2014 and got to know the apartment and area quite well. This was our seventh extended trip to Rome, and this apartment was one of the best in which stayed. (We try to stay in a different part of Rome on every trip.) We were two people and found the apartment fitting our needs very well, from the microwave to washing machine. It would serve four person well. Beds were comfortable; plenty of hot water; the bathroom was excellent; the kitchen stocked well enough for our needs. TV on cable or satellite was fine, and we found English speaking broadcasts available at any time, although we were unable to find English language news. We made up for this by using our iTouch and iPad. The Wi-Fi system works very well and is secure. Moreover the apartment was quiet. Whoever lives above was very considerate about noise. Check-in and check-out went smoothly.
Location was superb. We were but a block or two from intercity transportation, including tram service into the center of Rome, bus service to Termini station, Testaccio, and more. (We buy monthly passes and ride whenever and wherever we want.) The Centro Historico could be reached in twenty minutes, tops. Several large groceries, an outdoor market, a couple of very good restaurants, and a great espresso bar are all within a ten minute walk. The heart of Trastevere is no more than a ten-minute walk. There is a set of steep steps near the apartment that lead up to some great views of the city. Up the steps is a villa/park that would be great for young children.
We have no problem recommending this apartment.
Casa Glorioso is perfect as a base for a stay in Rome. The apartment is very clean, well-equipped and comfortable and the owner very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay there again. The location is excellent for exploring Rome on foot and the bars and restaurants in the Trastevere are great value for eating out and enjoying the friendly atmosphere late into the evening.
We are two mature, lately annual visitors to Rome. This is the best apt. we've had there and we will be back. The owners are pleasant, positive, responsive, helpful and easy to work with. Really! The apt.has all the features listed and is like the photos show but even better. It is well equipped, the kitchen is great to work in, the furnishings and art are attractive, and it is comfortable, bright and roomy. Being on ground level is a plus, both with getting luggage in and out and also arriving home daily with shopping bags and worn-out legs. The apt. is an easy walk to most of Trastevere. It is one block from multiple buses and trams that take you everywhere further away. Grazie, Angela and Elisa. Ciao and aloha,Julie and Peter
Our family of 4 stayed at Casa Glorioso for a week in Spring of 2013. It met all of our needs and was in a wonderful location. We walked for miles every day but also were near bus routes so that was an option
we sometimes used.
Elisa met us when we first arrived with a warm welcome and a bottle of red wine to toast our first visit to Italy with. She showed us how everything worked in the apartment and answered every question that we had. We were especially interested in going to a soccer match at Stadio Olympico and she told us where we could buy tickets from. We appreciated tips she gave us about restaurants
to try in the area and we went to many of them.
The apartment was clean and well kept and was a wonderful base to explore from.
If you are in Trastevere on a Sunday morning be sure to check out the flea market at Porta Portese. If you enjoy sports and it is soccer season go see a game and enjoy the great enthusiasm the Italians have for the game. Our favorite restaurant in Trastevere was Casetta di Trastevere.
Rome is a fabulous city with so much to see and do. The Vatican, the colessium and art galleries are definately on the list of things to see and do.
Thanks Angela and Elisa, we had a wonderful time. We definately recommend this apartment.
The Kelly family
We (two couples, late seventies) stayed in this apartment for two weeks and found it quite acceptable. One bedroom is very spacious, the other a little crowded. The bathroom is small with only a shower, no tub, but it is adequate. The kitchen has room for only one worker at a time and lacks an oven but is otherwise fully equipped including dishwasher. The day room is also a little cramped but the four of us did quite well. The apartment is an easy walk from the Viale Trastevere with its buses and trams, from the very convenient San Cosimato market, from Sta Maria in Trastevere and a number of quite good restaurants and the marvelous Fatamorgana gelateria. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this apartment again.
Trastevere is an enchanting neighborhood to explore, with characteristic alleys, antique churches and squares. It is considered the most authentic and lively Roman neighborhood with small shops, artisans, markets. It is rich in restaurants for all budgets, pubs, wine bars. In Trastevere with its medieval architecture there are many places of interest to visit.
