Great Area and Local Activities: An amazing location we are just 6 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, yet easy in and out. There are 2 golf courses only 6 and 11 miles away and you are 2 miles from Stone Mountain State Park with loads of hiking trails, waterfalls and the stunning granite dome! Nearby berry picking, horseback riding and lots of Christmas Tree farms! The natural rustic setting is only a 20 minute drive to the wonderful small towns of Elkin, North Wilkesboro and Sparta for antique shopping, great local restaurants, shops, movies & other entertainment. Additionaly, Traphill is in the wonderful and emerging North Carolina wine country with over 15 wineries and tours within a 20 minute drive! Only 20 minutes to some of the local ski slopes!

Beautiful setting: The low mountain setting on 7 acres and 300 feet of river frontage make for a peaceful and relaxing setting. You can sit on the upper or lower deck and just listen to the river rushing by. There are often deer coming on the property to stop by our salt lick on their way to the river. We also often see wild turkey, beaver and a beautiful blue heron that calls our site home as well as many other birds and forest creatures! For you fishermen you can stand on the banks of the river and see lots of trout just swimming right by! The hammock, horseshoe pit and fire pit make it a fun setting for the whole family

Comfortable cozy home: The home is brand new (built in 2009) and a perfect lay out for a fun vacation. The kitchen, dining and family rooms are all open to each other and with the forest décor, huge fireplace and adjoining huge deck over looking the mountains and river it is a pleasure to be in there! The 2 bedrooms, and full bath on the main level make for plenty of room and comfort for everyone! The master suite is on the upper level affords a bit of privacy. It has beautiful luxurious master bath with raised garden tub, separate shower and huge vanity. There is a reading loft with incredible views looking out over the hills and river. Finally the game basement with the foosball, air-hockey, TV and wood-burning fireplace leading out to the lower deck is fun for all ages
