Casa D’or is a large family house situated at the top of the coastal road in Calan Porter, south side of the island. It sleeps 8 people comfortably. Lovely lounge with stunning views. Two terraces upstairs for private sunbathing. Fully equipped kitchen with turbo oven & hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer and more. Large private swimming pool, terraces and barbecue. Sat TV. Washing machine. Everything has been thought of inthis house.

The house is a 5 minute walk into the town centre of Calan Porter, 15 minutes drive from Mahon the capital and airport. Accommodation comprises Master bedroom with California King size Bed and a large bathroom en suite. 3 further bedrooms ( 2 doubles..one en suite + 1 twin bedded)...plus an extra smaller bathroom. Calan Porter has a variety of popular bars and restaurants, excellent supermarket, butcher, baker and banking services. Wonderful bay, safe for children, 2 excellent beach bars open all day long, serving local ‘Tapas’ or Paella. Entertainment each evening in various complexes open to everyone. Lovely walk into the next bay of Calas Covas. A great resort for everyone.

The property has it's own private swimming pool (8.5 metres long), surrounded by pretty flower beds which include Bougainvillea and many other plants and shrubs. Huge sun-bathing terrace with plenty of sun beds. Also adjacent, smaller extremely sunny terrace with Menorcan style BBQ area. Nearby clothes-drying area and washing machine. There are further terraces on the first and second floors of the property. The second floor terrace having the most stunning views of Calan Porter and the bay. On a clear day you can see the Tramuntana Mountain range in Mallorca, the next island and the amazing sunsets each evening. .

There is a daily bus service into Mahon, which runs every hour, except during siesta time. If you want to see Menorca properly, then hiring a car is advisable. Information on this can be supplied by owners on reserving the house. If you wish to hire a car you will be met at the airport by the car hire rep who will also help you with directions to the house (only 15 mins away). For any other information, please contact owners direct.

Golf: There is a very pretty 18 hole Golf Course in Son Parc on the north of the island, approx 30 mins drive from Calan Porter. Information can be supplied by owners on request.

Great Relaxing Family Holiday

We've just come back from a weeks holiday and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The villa was perfect and the pool area excellent. Our two boys (aged 1 and 4) fell in love with the pet tortoises which live in the shrubs by the pool and took great delight in running out every morning to feed them some lettuce leaves!

The villa was equipped with everything you need (and more besides!) and the thing we loved was it felt very much like a home from home. We loved looking at all the books on the bookshelves and it was great that previous holidaymakers had left things for us to use (such as the inflatable rubber rings and boat for the pool and the childrens buckets and spade came in very handy as well!).

The villa is just the right distance away from everything and the views are stunning.

Caroline was very helpful and arranged for the cot and high chair that we needed and we really appreciated the cold beer and wine that was in the fridge on our arrival.

I took my now fully grown family to this villa This is a good villa and is fair value, spacious, well furnished, clean, well maintained and has a homely feel. You will want for nothing in this villa and if you do, one phone call to the owner, Carrie, and you will get a prompt and friendly response. Be sure to read and digest the information she will leave for you, it is exact and easy to understand
It is a 10-15 minute walk to the restaurants of Cala n Porter, however at the end of the street there is Spanish bar and restaurant, excellent service and very convenient. It does stay open late but we did not suffer any disturbance at all other than the urge to go back for another freezing pint.It has a good menu too, it is not to far from the Cova De Xoroi, walking distance, if modern dance music is not for you visit during the day this truly "a cool" place to visit.
I am considering my next visit for next year if not sooner. We have stayed in several of the properties in Cala en Porter over the years, this has been the best yet.

Stunning !!!

This was our first experience in renting a holiday villa and it worked out perfectly which is largely thanks to the owner, Caroline, who made the whole process very easy with regular contact by email prior to arrival so as to ensure everything was ready for us, ask her anything and you will receive a prompt reply every time.
Casa D'or is a beautiful home which contains everything that you will possibly need during your stay,read the property details in full and that is exactly what you get and more. The property occupies one of the best positions in the resort,from the upper terrace it boasts stunning views over the bay in one direction and out to open sea from another. In the evening you can sit up there, enjoy a drink and watch the sun go down, you will not be disappointed and I have the pictures to prove it. The pool area is perfect for sunbathing, plenty of loungers and plenty of room to stretch out in total privacy, it also provides a great area for BBQ's.
Casa D'or is ideally placed for the local supermakets which are a 5 min walk away and sell everything that you will need, the resort centre is not much further with a great selection of restaurants. In addition,the beach is a 10 min stroll away and you can enjoy great views over the bay as you go along.
I have tried to come up with some negatives about this villa but I honestly cannot think of one, it will accommodate 8 easily in total comfort, the property is fastidiously maintained and clean, you can enjoy fantastic views from the terraces,everything is easily reached if walking but it still enjoys a peaceful location and Caroline makes the whole experience effortless, I cannot recommend it highly enough.
