Sunnyside, one of the great historic cottages of Bayside Village in Northport Maine was built in 1885 and has undergone extensive renovations this year. By the summer season of 2010, Sunnyside will be a two bedroom two bath cottage with an open downstairs floor plan featuring a wrap around porch, two living areas and a large, workable kitchen. Cook at the stove while gazing out at the billowing sails on the boats in the Bay. Sunnyside sits perched on a bluff with amazing views of Penobscot Bay from every area of the house. We are just a short 80 foot walk to public beach access. Come relax in the hammock on the porch, read in a cozy nook, or kayak to your heart's content on the Bay. Sunnyside had all new beds and furniture for the 2010 season mixed with a delightful group of antiques of the period. You will love this house! Please also see the Bayside listing for the '1907 Arts and Crafts Gem' which is also one of our cottages. Sunnyside will live up to that standard.

Bayside Village in Northport Maine is situated approximately 10 miles north of Camden and 3 miles south of Belfast. We are very close to hiking in the Camden Hills State Park, whale watching in Bar Harbor, the Farnsworth museum in Rockland, The Center for Maine Contemporary Art in Rockport, and the fantastic Colby Museum of Art in Waterville. Fantastic Restaurants await. There is Primo in Rockland, The Edge in Lincolnville, and Francine's in Camden. We are 80 feet from Penobscot Bay.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Credit Card Payments accepted through PAYPAL. Please email for more details.
  • A 200.00 dollar security deposit must be sent with rental payment. Deposit is refundable and will be returned after cottage inspection and within one week of the end of your rental term. Once you agree to rent the cottage, a 50% deposit must be paid within seven business days of agreement to rent. The rest of Rental payment, including 8.5% Maine Lodging tax is due at least 60 days prior to rental date. Cottage must be left in same condition in which it was found or a $75.00 cleaning charge will be assessed. Towels and sheets included in rental.
  • Dogs accepted with a $150 non-refundable dog fee per animal (max 2). Credit card accepted.

    Rentals run weekly from Saturday to Saturday. Check in after 3pm and check out by 10am

The second bedroom has a new queen bed and features a Dutch bed nook which can be used as a single bed or a cozy couch for reading and napping.

Notes: Sunnyside is one of the Grande Dames of Merithew Square in the Historic Village of Bayside. We have recently purchased Sunnyside and are in the midst of a complete renovation. The photos you see here are the before pictures. The exterior of the house will be painted and will have more appropriate windows upstairs. The interior will be an open floor plan downstairs with a bath down and will have two large bedrooms with high ceilings (walls will go up to the peak) and a bathroom with a shower/tub combo. Check back with us to see more photos. We also own the house 'Little Bohmeia' a wonderful 1907 Arts and Crafts cottage, which you can find on this website. The interior of Sunnyside will be just as comfortable as Little Bohemia's interior.
