There is a great deal to do on St. Croix. Of course, the island has beautiful beaches, some on the grounds of resort hotels or guesthouses where chairs, changing and restaurant facilities are available. There are also more remote beaches where a 20-minute hike through the hillsides will bring you to white sands, crystal clear waters, excellent snorkeling and often, total seclusion.
For sailors, there are a variety of sail and powerboat options available, including many half or full-day excursions to Buck Island Reef National Monument. Golfers will find excellent conditions at both the Buccaneer Hotel’s 18-hole seaside course or at the Robert Trent Jones course at Carambola. A wide choice of deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, kite-sailing, parasailing, jet-ski, snorkeling, kayaking and horseback riding adventures are also available. If you’re a gambler, the Divi Carina Bay Casino is the largest in the Caribbean. Duty-free shopping is also a favorite past-time of many who visit St. Croix. Don’t forget to try our own Cruzan Rum and to take some home with you.
St. Croix is known for its beautiful, historic architecture in the main towns of Christiansted and Frederiksted as well as for the restored plantation houses and grounds at Whim and Little La Grange.
