We fell in love with the mountains of North Carolina since first setting eyes on them!! We find that there is nowhere more suited to enjoying nature and family than the High Country.
The Owner purchased this house in 2009
Eagles Nest is truly a dream come true. If you can spend your time off here, why go anywhere else?
The amenities offered at Eagles Nest are truly incredible. The pavilion is a structure you would only see in movies. Having a simple lunch cooked to order outdoors awhile gazing at the gorgeous view is restorative!!
Afterwards walk down to the cliffside library and absorb the awesome panorama while you enjoy one of the hundreds of books available.
Then there is the 4 wheeling, the mountain biking, the ropes trail, disc golf, fishing, horse back riding, archery and so much more!!
The experience is so fantastic, it is difficult to describe!!
My wife and I were searching for a quick weekend getaway. Rosemary worked with us on short notice and we had a wonderful weekend on the mountain. We were awakened to a light and peaceful snow fall and we had the mountain to ourselves. The cabin is charming, warm, comfortable and provides the privacy and tranquility needed for a relaxing get away. Rosemary is great to work with, the cabin is wonderful and the property is a mountain play land! Running Waters lodge really has everything you need for a mountain adventure and/or get away!
The pictures don't even do this place justice. The house is tastefully decorated; the dining room table easily seats 8; the kitchen is well stocked and roomy; the bedrooms each have their own bathrooms; the game room is well-equipped; the house is located close enough to civilization (and golf), but with plenty of privacy. We have been doing a Labor Day Weekend trip to varying locations with 3 other couples for 10 years and this is the nicest house in one of the nicest locations we have rented. We all would have enjoyed writing in a guest book - if one were available. Thanks for sharing your place.
We stayed at Running Waters Lodge back in August of this year for a few days and over Thanksgiving this year and this is a wonderful home. Our kids loved the game room and we even got snow over Thanksgiving and they had a blast sledding down the hills of the driveway. All the beds are very comfortable with down comforters and the house is extremely cozy with all the Biltmore decor. The views are fabulous and Eagles Nest is a great community with lots of amenities to offer. We would definitely give this house 5 stars! If you stay here you will not be disappointed! The owner is great to work with and she adds many extras with whole bean coffee, linens, and toiletries! Great time had by all!!
My wife and I spent my birthday long weekend at Running Waters, and had an extremely peaceful and relaxing experience. The home is absolutely beautiful, with plenty of room and décor that gives you that mountains/Biltmore feel. A very peaceful setting with running waters, that literally put me to sleep on the back deck.
We had a great time experiencing the local scenery, Banner Elk and Grandfather Mountain, as well as the local restaurants and shops. An extremely enjoyable experience, and I would recommend this home to anyone.
We rented this house for a family vacation two weeks ago and it was more than I expected! Very clean, beautiful and warming decoration, very well equipped kitchen,bathrooms,rooms...everything works very well with no problems, beautiful views and perfect for the kids too! The owner was very friendly and all the process to rent the house was very smooth...I recommend this house 100%. Thanks Rosemary for everything.
My wife and family have stayed in many homes throughout the Blue Ridge. I have to say this is perhaps one of the nicest, upscale lodges in this area. The house is decorated in a mountain motif, reminiscent of the Biltmore Estate. The attention to detail is perfect for any discriminating vacationer. The open Living room with soaring ceilings and log beams are incredible, there is also a gas log fireplace in the main living area, and also the Master Bedroom. Our family, especially my daughter, loved the game room, pool table and wii games supplied by the owners. If you have never been to the neighborhood, Eagle's Nest - it is awe inspiring. Set atop a beautiful mountain, with forever views, the developers spared nothing. An outdoor amphitheater, library, soccer field, trails and a multitude of other outdoor activities. You will not want to leave the gated community, it is so incredible. The location is superb, just 2-3 minutes outside of charming downtown Banner Elk. Rose and family were great to work with and a wealth of knowledge about the area. We can't wait to come back to Running Waters.
Outdoor Barbeque pavillion, ropes course, observation tower, library with hundreds of books, amphitheater, disc golf, soccer field, horseshoes, teepees, archery, wildlife sanctuary, 4-wheeling
