BEAUTIFUL BEACHFRONT 9TH FLOOR OCEANVIEW STUDIO CONDO - DAYTONA BEACH RESORT

We stayed here due to its location and positive reviews but did see a lot of age 55+ recommendations so I would like to share a review from a 28 & 30 year old couple. First off it was spotless clean and updated to the point even my wife was like "Wow, this is really nice". Trust me that is a hard enough comment to get on its own around my house :) Everything from the beach towels, dvd's, books and beach chairs provided made you feel like you had already been staying for a month and added an air of comfort to our first day there. There were many personal touches added to this condo including dishes, cooking, cleaning and personal supplies provided. This reflects directly on the owners Bert & Laureen who could not have been nicer or more responsive to questions and assistance. The hotel staff was extremely polite and always smiling and also kept the grounds very clean. HINT--Be polite back to the staff since we saw how many tourists were unnecessarily rude and embarrassed themselves!! The pools were nice, up-kept and popular on the weekend but during the week were very relaxing and quiet while the beaches right in front are beautiful. We didn't eat the food at the hotel but did go to Peppers Mexican restaurant (GREAT FOOD & Margaritas) just down the street then Boon Docks & also Hidden Treasures in Port Orange which is the next beach town 5-10 miles down the road. I am from Port Orange and my family still lives there so I've learned not to try and stick right around the Main Street Pier. (We tried Bubba Gumps and it was horrible compared to the one in San Francisco, Ca due to limited menu and bad taste) but my wife wanted to try it. The Sunglow Pier is a second pier on Daytona Beach and worth a try just south of the Dunlawton Bridge and also try under the Dunlawton bridge for a couple hang out spots. All of these locations were very near the hotel and well worth it. We also took a trip to Sea World in Orlando which was offering free military tickets at the time ($79) a ticket normally which was a one hour drive away and easy to find. This would have been worth it not matter the costs, and this comes from somebody who said no to his wife about going until our last day "dreading a theme park" (watch the dolphin and shamu shows and you'll change your mind too)!!! We will be back to this room or one of Bert and Laureens other rooms here whenever we return to FL!!!!!!!!!

This was our second stay at this unit. We were very pleased with the amenities and location of the resort. The unit itself is clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable and equipped with everything you need. Perfect for any couple looking for a vacation getaway! Bert & Laureen are available if any problem arises and the resort staff are friendly and helpful. We'll be staying again !!!!

My first impression upon walking into the condo was "clean". Everything was as-pictured in the web site: cute kitchenette, new wall unit, nice sleeper sofa, view of the ocean.

I was particularly impressed by the thoughtful provisioning that we discovered. In the front closet we found beach chairs, sand toys, pool noodles and a rolling soft-side cooler. The kitchenette was equipped with every small appliance imaginable (although I had no plans to cook!), dishes, flatware, utensils, even wine glasses.

One of the wall units included a closet that had more hangers than I had ever seen in a rental (including our timeshare), and about half of them were wood and the other half were "huggable". There were three extra-large (and clean!) drawers that easily fit all of our clothing.

The other wall unit held a nice flat-screen TV and DVD player, and in the top cabinet we found a large selection of DVDs and books. A good stack of recent magazines were also available in the nightstand drawer.

I think we found 6 sets of bathroom toweling, and 4 nice beach towels. Under the sink was a stash of shampoos, body washes, etc. that had presumably been left behind by previous renters. I thought it was a nice touch to leave those for someone who might need them.

The resort included a large parking garage, which was nice when we had some rainy weather. The amenities were very nice -- 3 outdoor pools, one indoor, hot tubs, cabana bar, restaurant/lounge and a convenience store. The resort was one of the more attractive ones on the strip, and was conveniently located within easy walking distance of groceries and Starbucks!

All in all, I would say we were completely satisfied with the unit and the resort. Thanks, Bert and Laureen!
