My husband and I were in Santa Barbara for a week and were so happy with this private and beautiful studio. We found the studio to be well supplied, clean and in a perfect location for going to the beach, getting to State Street for shopping, visiting UCSB or taking a day road trip. The view of the landscape and ocean from the deck is even more gorgeous than the pictures and we enjoyed watching the sunset with a glass of California wine. Chris was a very pleasant and easily accessible host and we could tell she very much wanted to help us have a great trip and experience by providing excellent lodging. She was also helpful in giving us ideas for hikes and restaurants. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
We were greeted by Chris upon arrival. The studio is very private and comfortable. We loved the reading chairs each with their own light...perfect for the books we had brought. The bed was comfortable and the bath completely stocked with everything we needed. The under the counter refrigerator was perfect for our cheese, fruit and yogurt. We appreciated the plates, silverware and wine glasses that were in the unit. The weather did not allow us to use the patio, but the view from the patio and studio is awesome! Thank you Chris for sharing your beautiful studio with us!
My wife and I spent two nights and had a great time. The room was clean and quiet. Coffee on the deck in the AM was peaceful with mountain views all around. Chris, the owner, was kind, courteous, and professional. Her communication was top notch. We would gladly stay here again.
My boyfriend and I very much enjoyed our stay at this property. Everything was exactly as described, photos were accurate, and Chris was a great communicator all along the way. We even had a little mishap wherein we thought our check had been mailed to Chris but it had not. She was gracious and patient in allowing us to rectify the mistake. We loved the open air feel of the place and the windows/blinds allowed us to see and hear the peaceful surroundings. I greatly appreciated the lack of a cleaning fee and had no problem picking up after myself. The only thing we weren't expecting was the soft water. Chris provided a pitcher of filtered water from her home, but the boyfriend goes through gallons a day. I know she would have given us more, but I didn't want to bother her. Just a heads up would have let us know to arrive with bottles of water, which we wouldn't have minded bringing. Or maybe a Brita pitcher in the fridge? We would definitely like to come back another time, though the 3 night minimum on the weekends makes that a little difficult. I'd like to explore the park and creek mentioned in other reviews. Thank you, Chris, for a great stay!
We love staying at this place when we come visit our daughter at UCSB. The room itself is beautiful as well as comfortable, and the view from the room and deck is striking. There is enough space for our daughter to come hang out and study, and we are all very comfortable here. The grounds around the house are filled with lush plantings - it's all very peaceful. The neighborhood is wonderful, and we are minutes away from UCSB, downtown Santa Barbara, and beautiful parks and sights. Chris is a very attentive host, who takes pride in her clean and well-kept accommodations. This place is a winner!
The view is absolutely gorgeous. Lovely gardens to look at. The pool is only for the owner so it was a bit hard to look down at it and know it was off limits. The room is large and air conditioning worked very well and was quiet. A good thing because it has lots of windows and so if the sun is out it gets really warm in there even if not that hot a day. I think to call it a studio is a bit misleading since it is really just a bedroom with a small refrigerator and a table with a microwave and toaster oven on it. It is more of a bed and no breakfast. But worth the price and very well-kept.
Don't forget soap, shampoo, coffee if you want to make some etc. The top unit is the best view but the lower ones don't get so much sun and get so warm in the afternoon. Also you need a car--it is a few miles from the highway and from the major attractions.
