My vacation home is in Rio Rancho, NM, centrally located near downtown Bernalillo, close to shopping, restaurants, and outdoor activities. Hiking and bike trails are only a 5 min walk from the house. For the advanced hikers/bikers, a short 10 minute drive to Placitas offers amazing trails. You can fish in the Rio Grand River 10 min from the house. During the 1st week in October, the thousands of hot air balloons are clearly visible from the back deck of the house. Its a glorious time to sit on the deck, sipping hot cocoa and watching the balloons ascend. Or better yet, the launch site is a mere 8 mile drive from the house off of Hwy 25. The house is located approximately 15 miles from the ABQ airport and 50 miles to Santa Fe. The Rail Runner Commuter train is only 5 miles from the house, where travelers can park and ride for a nominal fare to Santa Fe and further. The home is located less than 1 mile from the Santana Star Casino, 3 miles from 18-hole golfing at the 5-Star Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort, 2 miles from fishing in the Rio Grande River, 4 miles from old town Bernalillo where you are certain to experience a true old southwest town consisting of a farmers market, authentic NM food, art galleries, and more. For the outdoor enthusiast, you will be steps from hiking/bike trails, skate park, and playgrounds.

Cozy Get Away Place

What you see in the pictures is really what you get.

Three things I like about this place: 1) the Deco - there hints of New Mexico everywhere; 2) the house is cozy and the view of the mountains is amazing; 3) the location - lots of places to go out for a nice meal or souvenir shopping.

I enjoyed my stay, got some rest as I planned to. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

This rental is in a quiet neighborhood. and has all of the amenities of home. The property is a well cared for and comfortable. I found the walking trails clean and well used by the community and accessible with majestic views of the mountains which are the backdrop for the International Balloon Festival lift off. The location is convenient to a large casino, golf course as well as fishing in the Rio Grande. I recommend this rental for families due to several rooms and bathrooms to accommodate all. However if you want to just get away and relax with a book and not be in a hotel this is a great alternative too.

A Relaxing Get Away!

Serene Mesa Retreat is the perfect title for this home! The view is gorgeous and it is perfectly suited for a nice, relaxing retreat. Or if you are looking for things to do, there are a lot of choices within a short distance—hiking, authentic southwest food, unique shopping opportunites, Santa Fe. We went to a local restaurant in a nearby town -- delicious!

I felt completely at home in the house. It is extremely clean and has all of the amenities. The owner thought of everything! The neighborhood is quiet, groceries and gas are very close and it was an easy drive from the Albuquerque airport. I plan to come back again soon--would love to see the balloon festival, but am also excited about going to Santa Fe. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of their life for a fantastic, relaxing get-away!

Clean, beautiful views and great location!

Our stay here was great. When we arrived, the place was clean and inviting. The view of the Sandias off the back porch and out the bedroom window was very nice and relaxing. The furniture was comfy too! I spent some good time relaxing on that comfy couch.
It was also in a great location, close enough for our trips into Albuquerque, yet far enough out to be out of the noise and bustle of city. And it made for quicker trips to Santa Fe as well (beautiful town with tons of fun shops) :)

The casino was an unexpectedly fun trip too!
Oh, and nice trails out there too!
