About Ted or Pam Ponville

“A Peaceful Place To Visit”

The great Smokey Mountains National Park in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, is a peaceful place to visit. Looking through the eyes of nature the enjoyment and serenity of the forest is like a journey through space before entering the sacred gates of heaven.

Blue hazy smoke drifts lazily over the mountain tops like a blanket protecting a sleepy town. Towards the east, slowly peeking over the horizon, the rising sun views the waking park and unfolds like a majestic answer to an artist’s dream.

Vividly rushing creeks meander along winding mountain roads to form roaring waterfalls that seem to perish like the ends of the earth.

Strolling through lush green forest, sweet chirping sounds float like a choir of angels singing.

This is proof that there is an almighty God and he does give you the desires of your heart. This was a paper I wrote in college in 1991, before we ever thought it was possible to achieve our dream of owning property.

Why Ted or Pam Ponville chose Pigeon Forge

We came to the Great Smoky Mountains in 1977 for our honeymoon and fell in love with the area. Most of our family vacations were spent in this area. We always talked and dreamed of owning a log cabin one day and that dream became a reality.

What makes this cabin unique

Enjoying shopping for local crafts, outlet malls, antiques, & flea markets in the area. Plan a day to go ice skating at Ober in nearby Gatlinburg. We love to picnic in Cades Cove while enjoying nature & wildlife.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks for the kind words about our cabin & the Fire Flies, that is the best part of the day in the summer for enjoying the sunset on the deck. We always try to make our guest feel as if our home is there home. It has been a blessing to have your family as our guest. We believe God gave us this cabin, so that we can be a blessing to others. Thanks again and hope to see you'll soon.

Great Time Out

  • 5 of 5

A peaceful retreat was just that. This was a weekend to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, from back in September. As the parents of three children, one a dancer, the other a football and baseball player, and a toddler just being a toddler, we are a very busy family. This was our first weekend away from kids in over 3 years, and it was so relaxing not having somewhere we HAD to be. The cabin was absolutely beautiful, the pictures posted does not do it justice at all. It was very clean and well taken care of. We ran in to a little bump with the weather and Ted the owner was wonderful. He was so sweet to offer us anything that could help us with our stay. The cabin is not far from all the action but it is secluded enough to enjoy the peace, quiet, and all of God's beauty. We can not wait to come back and even bring our kids along. You can tell from the moment you walk in that the owners want you to feel welcome. Thank you so much to Ted and his wife for sharing their beautiful cabin with us.

BEAUTIFUL!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was beautiful. The owners were so easy to work with and so nice every time we spoke. The cabin was the perfect get away for my husband and me. The drive to town was only 20 minutes with wonderful mountain views pretty much the whole drive. We enjoyed playing games that the cabin had stocked and absolutely loved the hot tub, which was in the perfect spot - private and covered from the cold wind and rain. We are already planning a return trip with our three year old. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to get away to the smokies!

Pefect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect getaway cabin for my husband and I. Loved everything about it. The location was perfect far enough away to know you were in the mountains but close enough to have an enjoyable drive to town. The pictures here give a very accurate description and the cabin was very clean and welcoming when we arrived. LOVED the hot tub and its location as it was private and relaxing on the deck overlooking the woods. It rained late in our stay and it was great to still enjoy the hot tub since it is covered on the deck to relax and listen to the rain. We will be back. I am already looking at some dates. The owners we VERY EASY to deal with. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the kind word's about "A Peaceful Retreat." Your comments were exactly what we had in mind when we built our cabin. As far as our cabin being clean we have the "Best" housekeepers on the planet. Besides being our housekeepers they are our best friends and awesome musicians as well. We believe that our success in renting our cabin has been because of the cleanliness of our cabin and the creative ideas of my wife. We put much effort into making our cabin feel like you walked back in time when you arrive, less the hassle of chopping wood and pumping your water and of course having bathrooms. Again thanks for this awesome review and looking forward to your next stay with us. We like people to come to our cabin as guest and leave as our friends. May God Bless You Pam & Ted

Home Sweet....Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four loved this cabin! We had a wonderful time, and look forward to coming back in the future. The view was incredible. It was a nice little cruise from town. The view along the way was gorgeous. The cabin was very tidy and the decor was homey feeling. My kids even mentioned that it felt like home as soon as we arrived. Our stay was from Saturday through Wednesday. The price was great! Homeowners were exceptionally nice to us via phone and email! My only suggestion to renters would be to bring your own skillet if you're wanting to cook, but I'd suggest that for any cabin I've stayed at. The beds were also very comfortable and we slept well during our stay! :)

Owner's Response: I am so glad you enjoyed our cabin as much as we do. We spent years trying to find the perfect location for our cabin. My wife is the creative person that had the vision of the way the cabin is decorated. We are glad that our cabin will provide long lasting memories .

Amazing location

  • 5 of 5

My husband, 3 kids and I loved staying here. Quiet and peaceful. Close to national park. Far enough from the hustle and bustle of town to feel like a real mountain vacation. The Ride into Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg very scenic. Cabin very nice and equipped with every thing you'd need. Can't wait to come back and stay here again.
