This home was a great find for our family and extended family. Tammie was great to deal with. She answered all of my questions and then some prior to our arrival. She not only sent directions, but a great list of points of interests with phone numbers and additional notes! She’s really on top of things. I’m doing my review to help future travelers to this location with family, so you know what to bring and what not to bring. In a nutshell, the house has everything. It’s in a secluded location with no cell phone service or outside distractions. This was an added bonus for our technology ridden family.
The house has built in swings on the porch for the younger children, pedal boat, canoe, old school ice cream maker, the garage is loaded with added bonuses and supplies like life vests, fishing equipment, wet suits, tubes, noodles, floaties. Don’t let the pictures fool you. The fire pit area is super nice, walk down the back yard stairs and it’s in its own location with seating and the HAMMOCK too…it’s hidden away nicely and a great place to get some peace and quiet. Go further down the stairs outside and you go to the dock…located in a cove area, but nice and deep if you opt to rent a pontoon from David. David was an excellent bonus and a wealth of knowledge on the area. He delivers the boat to Tammie’s dock for you and gives instructions and tips for fishing, driving and bait locations nearby. He also has great information on the local wildlife and there is local wildlife! It was great for our kids, because we live in the city. They got to see all kinds of wildlife at this location to include, chipmunks, deer, bald eagle, owls and a glimpse of a black bear along side the road on US Business 19.
Be on the lookout for great stops driving up in case you would like to stop for bait, apples, shopping, eating on the way up! It’s best to make the drive during the daytime. Cherokee and Bryson City seemed far away when we made our reservation, but once we got there we realized that it was a nice day trip out and not too far away…40 minutes…but there’s so much beautiful scenery along the way.
The house looks so much better than the pictures. It’s definitely a cabin and lake house all tied into one with gorgeous views from every window. There’s a gas grill and charcoal grill here and two of the five televisions are nice sized flat screens for gaming and movie night! The wet bar downstairs is gre
