A note from Steve and Laurie:
Having raised a family in South America while teaching internationally, we were naturally drawn to Southwest Florida’s tropical climate and serene beauty. We spent our first year on Ana Maria Island, and quickly grew used to our evening beach walks at sunset, weekend swims with dolphin sighting, and some of the best fishing in the country. As we moved out to explore the Boutique city of Sarasota with its artistic influence on museums, theater, and outstanding restaurants, we realized there was a great deal more to experience in the area. Our present home puts us right in the center of everything!
The Owner purchased this house in 2003
Location, location! Our lakeside-boating community is beautiful, active and friendly. It is central to all the activities we enjoy: beach, bike riding, hiking, and boating to the West near the Island Intercoastal waterways; live music, art, upscale restaurants, and shopping at Saint Armonds and Sarasota to the South; international theater and sailing in Tampa to the North; and one of the best discount shopping areas for miles around in the Prime Outlets of Ellenton, just minutes away to the East!
We prefer the natural aspects of our community best! We have access to a boating ramp at the end of our street and can quickly be enjoying the beauty of the Manatee River and the Gulf of Mexico- a fisherman's paradise. Taking in the tranquil views of nature at Sunrise is a great way to start the day. A wide variety of magnificent shorebirds feed on the sunlit water, while playful ducks, squirrels, cardinals and jays vie for attention and seed treats on the wide expanse of lawn! Darting turtles will swim in droves and gather on the beach in hopes of a piece of action, as well. If you need a heavy dose of rest punctuate by outdoor adventures, cultural sightseeing and diverse cuisine, come to our unique home.
Our family coming from CT, NYC, and California enjoyed your lovely, comfortable home! We recently lost our dear sister and appreciated being able to be together in such a peaceful setting, close to the water, the stores, pharmacies, main roads and anything we might need. Watching the birds on the backyard lake and daily parades and visits by the "red hat lady ducklings was very nice. Thank you for making available your delightful home which was perfect for our needs!
I can't tell you enough how much I enjoyed staying here. This house is in such a great location. It's close to the Interstate, so traveling to nearby sites (like Clearwater Beach and Myakka State Park) was a breeze! It's also about 15 miles from the beach. It was Spring Break when we stayed, so it took over 30 minutes to get to Holmes Beach. It was worth the wait! Holmes Beach is the best one around! I also loved how "homey" the house is. There was even a newly strung guitar in the living room and many excellent books for reading. The pool was wonderful and we enjoyed eating dinner outside every night. There are also friendly turtles and ducks near the pristine pond. The beds were very comfortable and there were many things, like items for the beach and extra bikes, which were left in the garage for renters' use. I just loved this house. Bradenton also has so much to offer- great restaurants, a neat museum with "Snooty" the manatee, artist communities, biking trails, kayaking, & fishing charters.
We enjoyed the peace and tranquility of this location immensely. The body of water behind the property was a source of amusement as our canine companion became acquainted with the water fowl and turtles. The property was quiet, well climate controlled and very comfortable in every way. The well equipped kitchen and spacious dining area made for quick and easy meal preparation and clean-up. This villa is minutes away from anything you can think to do in Bradenton from golf to beaches to nature preserves to great seafood restaurants there is even a National Park at Desoto Memorial for the history buffs. This is definitely a do again for sometime in the future.
The title says it all; we truly think of our time at this house daily and often say how we wish we were back in Bradenton! From the open and spacious ranch to the fabulous screened in outside area with the beautiful pool, the entire house is a delight. We stayed in the home with our 1 year old twins. While we had to rent 2 pack n plays, the house was completely suitable for them otherwise. The master bed was comfortable and each room was spacious. The screened in pool was our favorite highlight. Watching the wildlife from the pool was a lot of fun and the visits from the ducks made our day! The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We definitely plan to be back and are so sad to see how far into next year this house is booked, but completely understand why! If I lived here, I would never leave. Thank you for opening up your beautiful home and look forward to doing business in the future.
We loved our week here. The neighborhood is pretty and quiet. We loved the pond in the back. Lots of wildlife - birds of all kinds and softshell turtles. The house is comfortable, just like home and had more supplies than most places I've rented in the past. We explored beaches as far south as Venice and as far north as Anna Maria. Convenience is exceptional here - all of these beaches were within 30 minutes or so. There are also a Walmart, Publix and Walgreens just down the street. Steve was a great person to rent from and endured my many questions via email, graciously. We absolutely hope to rent again!
The house was well kept and clean upon arrival! We enjoyed our stay! Quite neighborhood, everyone was very nice. We had a miscommunication on the arrival date and had to stay the first night in a Hotel. The owner was very sorry and extremley fair on the remainder of our stay! I would stay there again!
