Exactly as described and pictured, only you have to open the door to this place to fully appreciate the ambience. Tucked away in the hillside is this tiny cottage with all the amenities and comforts of you could ever require. The cottage is cozy and clean. There is a great updated kitchen - gas stove was a bonus - fully stocked kitchen with pots, pans, utensils and the most charming assortment of plates and glassware. We had everything we needed to enjoy a restful weekend.
The town of Milford was a delight, even in a cold drizzle. We spent a few hours walking downtown in and out of the most charming antique shops and artesian craft shops, then finished the afternoon for a wonderful massage at Bayda Spa and then a drink at the Hotel Fauchere. The shopkeepers and people of Milford are friendly and eager to share the towns history, or the best place for a great cup of coffee. Don't go to Frettas if you can't resist being seduced by the freshest Italian meats and cheeses.
While Stephen supplies internet and cable, we spent the weekend talking, cooking, listening to music on his Bose and best of all, sleeping in the most comfortable bed in a loft lulled to sleep by the sound of the trickling creek behind the house.
The trip to Raymondskills Falls was not to be missed. The waterfall is spectacular, currently framed by beautiful ice. We can only imagine how beautiful the mountain is in the fall.
We plan to come back to experience Summer and Fall.
