Why Steven Minning chose Milford

The proximity to New York is so convenient and easy to get to. The property feels so private - you feel as though you are in the middle of the country, yet you are only a 10 minute walk into the middle of the town of Milford PA. The community is quaint, with good shops, good dining and minimum amount of tourists. Go the Milford Diner for some pancakes in morning and hob-nob with the locals. The area has all the amenities to go out or stay at home!

Steve's cottage is brilliant. This wasn't our first time to Milford and won't be our last as we hope to return to this place. Fully equipped kitchen was perfect for cooking in. Try the local gourmet food shops over visiting Wallmart. We'll also next time look to walk to town to try the hotel bar. Thanks Steve for an awesome stay!

Beautiful Milford

What a perfect little cabin for two! It was truly the perfect weekend, beautiful and it snowed. The brook outback was so peaceful. It is a perfect place to get away, no hustle no bustle! Just quiet (besides the sounds of water!) We took strolls everyday and ventured out to historic Milford just to have a look around, but mostly, we stayed inside warm and toasty with the fireplace going, watching movies, listening to the radio and cooking. A place you will want to return to again and again!

Steven is a wonderful person to rent from, he is on top of everything!

Excellent and Serene Escape!

I came here in a rush needing to get away to somewhere quiet and rejuvenating. I knew the ad mentioned a stream etc, but was literally blown away by the fact that the stream is literally right outback; you can hear its music all day long. The cabin itself is just perfect with a rustic feel but modern amenities. It has everything you could ever want, literally.

I have to mention the surroundings as well. There are numerous hiking trails leading to breathtaking waterfalls within literally 10 minutes of the cabin. I even just walked outside to the right of the cabin and found myself exploring and enjoying. Like others have mentioned, downtown Milford is right down the road with the cutest shops, etc. Heading the other way, there is even a brand new movie theatre :)

I fell in love with this place and plan to make frequent visits. I should also mention that Steven is the nicest most accommodating man. My whole experience was flawless and unforgettable.

Thank you, Steven.

Perfect weekend away from the city

We come several times a year from New York to stay in this perfect cottage. It's a great setting for a relaxing weekend. It's close to downtown Milford and the grocery store to stock up and then private enough to get away and relax.

We bring the dog and the yard is a great size for her to stretch her legs... We love it!

Rested and Rejuvenated

Exactly as described and pictured, only you have to open the door to this place to fully appreciate the ambience. Tucked away in the hillside is this tiny cottage with all the amenities and comforts of you could ever require. The cottage is cozy and clean. There is a great updated kitchen - gas stove was a bonus - fully stocked kitchen with pots, pans, utensils and the most charming assortment of plates and glassware. We had everything we needed to enjoy a restful weekend.
The town of Milford was a delight, even in a cold drizzle. We spent a few hours walking downtown in and out of the most charming antique shops and artesian craft shops, then finished the afternoon for a wonderful massage at Bayda Spa and then a drink at the Hotel Fauchere. The shopkeepers and people of Milford are friendly and eager to share the towns history, or the best place for a great cup of coffee. Don't go to Frettas if you can't resist being seduced by the freshest Italian meats and cheeses.
While Stephen supplies internet and cable, we spent the weekend talking, cooking, listening to music on his Bose and best of all, sleeping in the most comfortable bed in a loft lulled to sleep by the sound of the trickling creek behind the house.
The trip to Raymondskills Falls was not to be missed. The waterfall is spectacular, currently framed by beautiful ice. We can only imagine how beautiful the mountain is in the fall.

We plan to come back to experience Summer and Fall.
