Local Amenities & Shopping: All of the shops that you really need can be found in and around down town Canmore. There is a Safeway supermarket for all your groceries and Avalanche Movie Co. for you to take Ml advantage of the cinema room. If you need to hire any sporting equipment we would strongly recommend Gear up, our local favorite.

Canmore offers a host of enjoyable activities all year round. The top six activities for the summer, we recommend are:
White Water Rafting: Our family enjoy going to the Canadian Rockies Rafting Company (1-887-226-7625) which offers a range of trips to suit everyone from families with young kids, to thrill seekers.
Hiking: Whether taking a gentle stroll or a challenging mountain trail Canmore and the surrounding areas offer many beautiful trails to explore. We really like the stunning trails around the Nordic Centre and Grassi lakes. An enjoyable trip is to go to Lake Louise, which has breathtaking views of mountains, lakes and forests. This trip offers stunning scenery and there are even tearooms along the walks, which serve excellent banana cake and a wide selection of hot drinks. Our favorite walk is the trail from Lake Louise to Lake Agatha, especially since there is a waterfall at the top where you can cool down alter the hike, just make sure you keep an eye out for be
Fishing: Canmore is a prime tout fishing area. The Bow Diver, Ghost Lake and Grotto Pond come highly recommended.
Heli-fishing and float tube excursions are available. Although it is important to purchase a fishing licence if not on these excursions
Hot Springs and Spas: We (especially my Mum and 1) love going to the Hot Springs. Our favorite is Banff springs (403-762-1315) where you can relax in the steaming mineral waters surrounded by breathtaking views of the mountains. Our favorite spa is Wildflower Massage and Aesthetics (678-4644) which give wonderful relaxing massages and will give manicures and pedicures to those who are a little too young.
