This beautiful beach house has been our family vacation home for many years. We recently remodeled the kitchen and both bathrooms, and updated most of the furnishing. The views and access to the beach can't be beat. In fact, we are fortunate enough to have one of the largest beach fronts in the entire Ventura County Costal Area.
When we prefer to go all out on a vacation, we will usually book a suite at a Five Star Resort. However, resorts are not ideal when traveling with young kids. We have booked several vacation homes in various locations, and Ms. Caldwell's vacation home was hands-down the best! Her kitchen was well stocked and the towels were plentiful. We roasted marshmallows under the stars and swam with the dolphins and one sea lion during the day. Our kids wanted us to sell our 5200 square foot house with views of Pike's Peak and Garden of the Gods to live in Ms. Caldwell's lovely beach home. Thanks for a memorable vacation.
Just spent our second long girls' weekend here and as impossible as it seemed, we enjoyed it even more than last year. This time we ventured up into Santa Barbara for shopping and walking about and had a terrific dinner at Holdren's! The house is so comfortable and well appointed, we didn't want to explore the nearby areas as much as we might elsewhere. We were treated to postcard-worthy sunsets every evening and lots of sea life entertained us daily. Nancy is great to work with and all details went very smooth. We are already planning our 2016 visit!
I surprised my close friends with a retreat for the weekend and they were not aware of where they were going except for the address. They were excited, elated, overwhelmed and to say the least surprised of the location once they arrived. The house exceeded all of my expectations. Being right off the beach was truly breathtaking. The house was clean and very organized. We were all truly blessed and I would certainly rent this home in the future.
This VRBO booking was perfect for a three day beach house get-together for my wife, daughter and son-in-law. The house is a perfect size for 3-4 couples and the furnishings/amenities are all first class. This fabulous home is positioned right on the beautiful, private and tranquil beach. Situated just 11 miles from Ventura and Carpenteria and only 18 miles from Santa Barbara afforded us a wonderful choice of activities and restaurants. A 50 min. drive to Solvang and the wine country was a highlight for us all. Nancy is great to work with and has the quality of your stay as her #1 priority. We will always use this beach house to entertain our friends who come to Cali from all over the country...HIGHLY recommend. Thank you Nancy!!!!
This home is as good as it looks...and better. What you can't see is the full beauty of this beach. It is one of the cleanest, private, and most beautiful beaches in Ventura County. I rarely go into the ocean and went body-surfing three times throughout our stay. Additionally, the newly finished biking/jogging trail runs three miles north or south of home and was perfect for our morning jog. We will be back!
I'm prompted to write this review, almost 1 year after our stay, because my 4 year old just said to my husband, "Daddy, remember our beach house?". Truth be told, he's stayed in several beach houses, but we know which one he's referring to because he brings it up at least once a week! This house made a big impression on our family. I don't know if it was the house itself, the beautiful, secluded beach, the sweet town we instantly feel in love with, or a combination of all three, but we can't wait to go back to "our" beach house!
We stayed for a week with our four kids ages 3-9. We'd start off our day with a big breakfast which was fun and easy in that wonderful kitchen! Then we'd dash to the beach, which is where we spent most of our days. Sometimes we'd head into Carpinteria to look around which is an absolute must! Make sure you check out Chocolats du Cali Bressan for out of this world chocolate, Padaro Beach Grill for the best fish tacos you'll ever eat, then stop and browse the books at the little used book store. In the evenings we'd walk down to the huge rocks and find all kinds of sea creatures. We even got to hold a starfish! The house was the perfect size and it was nice that the kids had their own space downstairs.
We are thankful for the week we were able to spend here. It will forever be a favorite part of our California vacation!
After years of planning and construction, the new coastal bike path is now open with access just a few yards away! Bring your bikes and enjoy the beautiful California Coast!
