We offer you our ranch to explore and roam on all to yourselves! Rancho Alegre is very remotely located in southwestern New Mexico, the last ranching and cowboy frontier of the American West! At night, make a camp fire and watch billions of stars in our Milky Way sparkle above you with very special clarity. You are at 7,500 ft altitude, and the air is clear, summer days are comfortable and nights are cool. Your nearest neighbors are a ranch 4 miles away. You will enjoy absolute uninterrupted privacy. Let the peace on the ranch overtake you. When you sit quiet you will most probably spot an elk, mule deer, an antelope, a coyote and maybe even a roaming wolf. Eagles and owls roam above, and many other species of birds. Enjoy watching our horses graze in the distance, but please for your safety do not ride them!

Location: New Mexico < USA

Pie Town (a town of 50 or so) has been featured in the Smithsonian as one of the last frontiers in America's West. Naturally, it's known for its wonderful home-made pies, and the annual Pie Town Festival attracts visitors from around the world. It is also as a stopping point for hikers and bikers who travel along the Continental Divide Trail. Our Ranch lies right on the trail. Nearby there is fishing on Lake Quemado (40 minutes away), the VLA is a radio-astronomy wonder nearby (it is a 40 min. drive), there is the Lightning Field Ranch which is operated by the Dia Foundation, the Malpais and the largest Natural Bridge in NM is around 40 minutes away. But mostly, it is quiet, peaceful, a western ranch setting away from it all.
