This house is about 10 minutes by car or boat to The US Naval Academy in this charming and picturesque city on the Chesapeake Bay. Downtown Washington DC and Baltimore (with it's beautiful aquarium) are both close enough for day trips. This cozy cottage has a fireplace, cable TV and wireless high speed internet - perfect for laptops. Set back from the street with a perfect view to the water, the house is completely ready for visitors. The beds are made, and all linens, soap, shampoo and laundry needs are provided. The kitchen is new and fully equipped and there is a Weber gas grill on the porch. Historic downtown Annapolis has a great nightlife, including the Ram's Head Tavern, where you can enjoy concerts by world famous musicians. The safe, quiet and wooded setting is perfect for quiet retreats. Located just a few blocks from the Navy/Marine Corps Stadium, it's also is a great home base for people attending the Navy games.   • +Commissioning week: May 22- May 29, 2010 - minimum 1 week @ $2500.00 contact owners re longer stay
  • Credit card payment is accepted as well as personal checks. If arrangements are made within 7 days of start of stay, cashier's check or credit card is required. 50 % deposit to be paid with lease signing, This deposit is refundable if rental agreement is canceled in advance. Balance including security deposit and cleaning fee is due at start of stay. Advance notice cancellation requirements are flexible, and will be determined and specified in lease.
  • Regarding the security deposit: A $200.00 security deposit is required with final payment and is fully refundable after owners inspect house and find no damage. If damage is found, the repair of that damage will be deducted from the security deposit. Comcast cable 'On Demand' movie purchases are discouraged, but will also be deducted from security deposit if purchases are made. Pets require a signed waiver and a Pet Fee of $100.00 per stay.

Washer and Dryer / Location of thermostats: The Washer and Dryer are located in the kitchen. Due to space restrictions, these are relatively small units, and users must be careful not to overload them. Examples of appropriate weight would be ; one set of sheets and pillowcases plus 1 bath towel, or 3 pairs of jeans plus 3 shirts and a couple of pairs of underwear. If too much weight is put in washer or dryer, they become unbalanced, and will turn off and a repairman may have to be called in. We just throw a load in whenever we have a chance so as not to have a big laundry marathon.*********Thermostats: There are 2 thermostats located next to entrance between the dining room and living room. The top thermostat governs the heat, and the bottom, the air conditioning.

Parking and transportation to Annapolis: There is plenty of room to park in the driveway or directly in front of the house. To get to downtown, you can take a short ( 7-10 blocks) walk to the Navy Marine Corps stadium,or drive and park on side street across from the stadium, or pay $5.00 to park in the stadium lot. Just turn into lot from Farragut St, where there are free shuttle buses to Downtown Annapolis.

House sits on bluff overlooking water: As with many Annapolis water front houses, there is a sharp drop off at the edge of the back yard down to the water. Parents with small children should be extra cautious near this edge. There are about 35 steps down to the water.

Other Activities: Graul's grocery store and Rite Aid Pharmacy very close by

What can I say.....whether enjoying the panoramic view by the fireplace or sitting on the dock taking in the peace and grandure of the waterfront vista, it's a relaxing pleasure. The house was fully renovated from dock to kitchen. Charming and contemporary, it offered all the amemities. A perfect get away location. I give it a ten!!

Well-Kept Cottage Near Annapolis

This property is a well-kept cottage in a nice neighborhood very close to the Naval Academy stadium just outside of Annapolis. The house is set back from the street and offers good privacy and great water views. The dock is in great shape and provides easy access to Annapolis via boat.
The house itself is modest but well maintained with great common spaces and an updated kitchen area. The bedrooms are on the small side but nicely decorated. The owners had the house set up very well for renters, with extra soap, all linens and other thoughtful touches for travelers.
Overall, we had a great experience with both the house and the owners.
