This historic house in the heart of beautiful Empire was built in 1884. The kitchen, bathrooms, and living room addition was added in 2007. It is bright and sunny with vaulted ceilings, skylights, and many windows. The kitchen is fully equipped and has granite counter tops. Each bedroom has a queen bed. The house is located within one block of the grocery, post office, library (computers and high speed internet), the Friendly Tavern restaurant, an ice cream shop, gift and antique shops, and the Empire beach, where people gather each evening for the sunset.
The nearby Sleeping Bear sand dune is accessible by foot or car.
Thank you so much! We had a great time and your home is beautiful. We would like to rent it again next year. Just put us down for the week of the 4th for the rest of our lives! Thanks again!
Simply Outstanding! The house was excellent. Very clean, well stocked with all the basic needs. The location was perfect. Had plenty of room for family members that came to visit. Everyone that visited liked the place as well. Thank You!
This is the second time we have stayed in this home and we enjoyed it even more this time! The weekend weather was not exactly warm enough for the "beach" time, but we enjoyed utilizing the house as our "landing" point and went for a day of exploring and wine tasting in Traverse City, a day of exploring the Sleeping Bear Dunes (don't miss the Pierce Stocking route!) beautiful sunsets at Empire Beach (next time we will enjoy the fire rings on the beach and have a fire - bring wood!). There are great hiking trails that begin within walking distance of the home (Empire Bluff Trail is awesome!). The house is VERY CLEAN, accomodated all our needs and cooking in the beautiful kitchen was fun. This is 3 bedroom home is a great home for two families to enjoy (use the extra bedroom or the entire upstairs for kids). The beach has wonderful play scapes for all age children - we will be back with our grandkids next time :)
A beautiful and super clean home within walking distance to Empire Beach (lovely beach on Lake Michigan. Also has a playground.), a little grocery store and a restaurant. Great location for visiting Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes and the surrounding area. Perfect Northern Michigan vacation spot.
