You will feel so much 'at home' in our beautiful Petite Maison, on the easily accessible ground floor of a lovely 17th century building, situated in one of Paris' most charming neighborhoods. Our little 'quartier' is featured in Frommer's 'Memorable Walks in Paris;' it is truly one of the most historic, lovingly preserved areas in the entire city.
Our historic two-bedroom, two-bath 820 s.f. pied a terre is tucked away on a serene side street; you'll awaken to the sounds of birds chirping in our private garden, along with the bells of the magnificent cathedral of Notre Dame, which appears like magic when you turn out of our front door.
Our 'little house' in the city (so-named by some Parisian friends) is just steps from the bouquinistes (booksellers) which line the Seine, and a five minute walk to the famous Place St. Michel and the excitement of the Latin Quarter. Within minutes you can see the Sorbonne, the Roman baths and Unicorn Tapestries at the Cluny Museum, take a quick stroll to Ile St. Louis, visit the Conciergerie where Marie Antoinette spent her waning days, or take in a fabulous classical concert at the famous St. Chappelle built by Louis the IX.
Our lovely neighborhood is very French, a rarified historic district filled with galleries, artisans, restaurants and unique shops. The wonderful open air market on Place Maubert is a three-minute walk, as is the Metro and a plethora of bakeries, wine purveyors and a fabulous cheese shop.
The apartment itself is exceedingly comfortable and handsomely furnished. It features two quiet bedrooms (one upstairs, and one down), each with a tres chic new en suite bathroom -- perfect for two couples or a family. Both can be made up with two twins, or one king sized bed. A comfortable day bed in the living room accommodates a fifth guest. (We also offer an Aero bed if you have a sixth, child-sized guest traveling with you). The spacious living room is a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine with friends and recount the day's adventures.
The recently renovated, gorgeous kitchen equipped with high end European appliances is fully equipped to whip up some French cuisine using your finds from the market at Place Maubert. Petite Maison's unique architectural features include classic 'tommettes' (old tiles) on the floor and a barrel vaulted brick ceiling in the living room. A striking iron chandelier illuminates the large dining table, where you can spread out your repast, and bask in the light from two walls of windows. We are also blessed with a private garden, a lovely place to enjoy a morning coffee during the warm summer months, and a working fireplace to keep you cozy on winter nights.
Our Paris based American manager is just a phone call away should an unexpected problem arise. He is also available to assist with restaurant, event or tour reservations, as well as to arrange transportation. A personalized 'users guide' filled with our personal recommendations will help make the most of your sojourn in our favorite city in the world. A DVD with French themed movies; a CD player with music library and travel guides are also on hand should you decide to enjoy a quiet evening 'chez nous.'
If you are looking for lovely, comfortable and quiet accommodations just steps away from all the best Paris has to offer, look no further than Petite Maison.
Our trip could not have been more perfect. Traveled with my mother, mother in law and two teenagers. The apartment was everything and more! Michelle and David were awesome with every recommendation. From our pick up at the airport, to places to eat...perfect! I will definitely go back and hope to stay here again! The location is superb! Thank you Michelle! Loved the nespresso machine every morning!
Modern apartment in absolute heart of oldest part of Paris. Notre Dame literally at the end of the street. Wonderfully comfortable retreat after busy day touring the city. Michelle was very helpful with arrangements and suggestions to make the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for 2 couples.
Thank you Michelle for a great Paris adventure made so much better because of your lovely apartment which we thoroughly enjoyed. The trip was for celebrating my wife’s 70th birthday in a spectacular way, and it met all of her expectations. We traveled with another couple, one of whom spoke French which was a big asset, and the two separate bedrooms and updated baths arrangement worked perfectly for our needs. We had no experience in Paris and did not know what to expect in getting to the various museums and monuments which we wanted to visit. The location next to Notre Dame was perfect for us. Even at our ages, we walked to everything (except Sacre Coeur when we traveled by bus which we found very easy to use)– even walking back from the Eiffel Tower on the day of our visit.
The neighborhood was a great way to experience what we felt was the real Paris. The quaint street on which the apartment is located was amazingly quiet for being so close to a major thoroughfare; we never heard street noise of any kind. We found many small cafes so close to the apartment that we were unable to visit all of the ones we wanted to try. The modern, well equipped kitchen was great, but we hardly used it or the newer, modern washer/dryer because we were too busy eating our way thru the pastry shops and restaurants nearby.
Our weather was in the high 50’s and good for our March visit, but we would have enjoyed warmer weather to more fully utilize the lovely garden patio of the apartment. Your Paris representative was most helpful in checking us into the apartment and arranging transportation to and from the airport right at the front door. He made sure that we knew how to contact him in case we needed assistance with anything at the apartment, but there was never a need to contact him with a problem or issue.
We will certainly recommend to anyone we know visiting Paris that they treat themselves to the pleasure of a stay in your most exceptional property.
We did a ladies trip... 4 women in the perfect Paris apartment. Loved it... Had fires every night.... Comfortable beds and clean modern bathrooms... Yes, that was plural.... Having two bathrooms was essential to us! The location.... Walk out the door and boom! Norte Dame! You just can not get more central than this.... David the property manager booked all of our restaurant reservations and answered all emails on questions we had when we were there. We felt safe in the area. I will be back!
This is the "Real Deal" from start to finish!!! I visit Paris frequently and this is a great find. Owner, Michelle, handles the initial communication in a professional and timely fashion. Her, local English speaking property manager in Paris, David, is equally helpful with making you familiar with the property, to making recommendations, to arranging drivers to/from the airport or elsewhere as needed. The apartment itself, "Petit Maison", is nothing short of stunning with more than adequate room for 2 couples or a couple with 2 children. It has an extra security gate at the entrance and a beautiful little private professionally landscaped garden/courtyardoff the dining area. Well laid out open floor plan - dining room, living room and great, well stocked "cook's kitchen". We tend to hit the markets when in Paris (there is a great one just 2 blocks away, open Thurs. & Sat.) and cook a number of times during our visits. The 2 identical bedrooms, each with it's own en suite bathroom are quite comfortable. We were there in the middle of February and while the weather was moderate, the wood burning fireplace in the living room was wonderful. I can't say enough about the Latin Quarter location. This apartment is less than a dozen paces to the Seine and directly across the River from Notre Dame, making it very walkable to nearly everything - the Marais, Saint Germaine des Pres, the Pantheon, the Musee de Cluny, La Sorbonne and just minutes to the major Metro station at St. Michel with easy connections to anywhere in the City - and beyond. I have previously stayed at one of this owners other fabulous Paris properties, "Atelier" located in the Marais, which I would also highly recommend. This is one if those properties that you don't have to worry about it living up to your expectations. It certainly exceeded mine!!! We will be back. Thanks, Michelle for another fabulous stay!!!
The perfect place to rest after a long day of walking in Paris. This apartment is centrally located so you can walk to almost anywhere. The apartment is clean and comfortable. The one great thing with this place is that even though it was located centrally, it was very quiet, we were able to sleep like a baby. We are already planning our next trip to Paris and would not consider any other place to stay except here!
