Charming apartment in a beautiful private square called Arco degli Acetari, 100 meters from Campo de' Fiori and 200 from Piazza Navona. Easy walk to the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Roman Forum, Piazza Venezia, Piazza Farnese, Castel Sant’Angelo and the Vatican.
This area offers a range of fashionable shops and characteristic eating places, where typical Roman cuisine can be enjoyed in the numerous trattorias, pizzerias, and wine bars where visitors will really feel part of the atmosphere of old Rome.
Walking in via del Pellegrino, the ancient street that was used by pilgrims to reach San Pietro, you find this little arch that opens in a beautiful little square, very quiet (in the night is closed with a gate). The apartment is situated at the ground flour of a two floors old building in typical Roman architecture, just one large room, really unique, furnished in a elegant and charming Italian style, providing a really amazing atmosphere and enveloping visitors with a romantic holiday feeling.
Full of character, this serviced apartment consists of one master bedroom, one bathroom with shower, a warm living room with single sofa bed, kitchenette and small terrace.
The sleeping area is equipped with queen size bed and a very comfortable double divan bed.
The dining area is equipped with an elegant table, the kitchen is fully equipped with microwave oven, refrigerator, and stove. Air conditioning. The flat can accommodate up to 3 persons.
Set in one of the most charming hidden squares accessible through the beautiful archway just around the corner from Campo dei Fiori
An intimate spot superbly located on a tiny and cobblestoned 'private' little square near the Campo dè Fiori market.
This is a small secret corner in the heart of Roma, close to Campo de' Fiori, in the street that is called 'del Pellegrino', that was the way followed by romeis, the pilgrims that came to Roma by foot to reach the Saint Peter church.
A small square opens after an ancient Arch. It is called degli Acetari; during 1600 the used to sell the pure water coming from Acqua acetosa that was supposed to have therapeutic effects on liver, kidneys and spleen
The font is still visible but is closed since 40's.
Is a very comfortable place in one of the most characteristic places in the city. Easy to walk around, very quiet, but near to the heart of roman life.
The only thing this place has going for it is the location. The court yard becomes an underground party spot starting at 12am and continues all night to about 630 am. The unit itself has untreated mold under the kitchen sink 3' x 3'. That explains the smell. The espresso maker leaks all over the stove, never could get the tv to work and the place hasn't been properly cleaned. Previous guests chocolate bar found half eaten on the bookcase.Communication with the owner left a lot to be desired. The person he sent to open the unit did not speak English and was over 1.5 hours late. With some serious TLC this place could be all it is claimed. Very disappointed in this place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely, well-maintained, centrally located studio apartment. There is room for 3 to sleep (queen bed and a separate sofa). There is also a little private outdoor patio connected to the apartment where we ate breakfast. The outer courtyard shown in photos is very pretty, and tour groups come through to look at it, as do other people in the evening. I took advantage of the tip given by another reviewer to pour water on the steps just outside the door tp prevent people from congregating there - worked like a charm! Overall, we were very happy staying here.
We enjoyed the flat, but had trouble the first night. We arrived after dark and were met by a lady we had not corresponded with that only spoke Italian. Non of the directions to anything were in English. She tried to show us the washer in the dark on the patio, no dryer. Finally reached Marco and he arrived two days later wanting his money. No soap, toiletries, and very small shower. We made the best and really enjoyed Rome.
The apartment was a perfect size and accommodation for us-- husband, baby and myself. Located a few mins walk from bus line and also taxi port. You could walk almost anywhere from this location, and feel that Rome is at your fingertips.
Most importantly, the owner Marco was very helpful and professional.
The courtyard itself is worth the stay. In fact, many tourists arrived throughout the day to take photos of its picturesque scenery.
Very safe, very quiet. Manager locks the outside gate at nighttime. Markets nearby and bakeries, but most of all-- campo del fiori is literally around the corner so fresh fruits and vegetables galore.
Interestingly enough, found a street painter who captured the very courtyard, centre of painting being apartment's front door. We had to buy it.
Would definitely return.
my husband and I celebrated our 31 wedding anniversary in Rome in this wonderfully charming apartment. It was perfectly located in a quiet courtyard but just steps away from many conveniences(restaurants, patisseries, open air market, coffee bars) and within walking distances of all the major attractions in Rome. The apartment was exactly as pictured and perfectly appointed. And yes there were tourists taking pictures of the courtyard-we even saw the courtyard as a picture in a photo calendar of Rome!!!
This review is two months overdue, but the intervening time has not dimmed our enthusiasm for Marco's apartment! We (a couple) had a dreamy getaway in Rome, with the apartment as the ideal home base between our busy nights and days. The apartment was perfect in every way -- charming, roomy, and with a location that could not be beat. The AC kept us cool during a hot week in Rome. Be sure to go to Roscioli, just on the other side of the Campo di Fiori, for the best spaghetti carbonara you'll ever eat.
