Tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable one-bedroom apartment, situated on the third (4th in the USA) floor of an 18th century walk-up building. The building facade has been renovated, and an elevator is now available.
Located in the heart of the historical Marais, one of the oldest and well-known neighbourhoods in the capital.
The apartment is in a building typical of the Marais quarter with exposed beams. The building has a security code then an intercom opening, and there is a lovely stone courtyard.
The apartment door opens into an entrance with a well equipped open kitchen to your right. To your left, there is the bedroom, followed by the living room.
The 15m² (approx. 140 sq. ft.) living room has a window and parquet flooring. It is furnished with a double size sofa bed, a charming chimney (only decorative), some shelves and a dining table with chairs. There is also a free Internet Wi-Fi connection, the cable TV (CNN, CNBC...) with a flat screen, a phone with free calls to fixed lines in Europe, US, Canada and Australia, and a Hi-Fi stereo system.
The 12m² (approx.110 sq. ft.) bedroom has a window and parquet floor and is furnished with a double size bed, two bedside tables, a closet and a desk.
The open kitchen is equipped with two vitroceramic plates topped by an exhaust fan, a microwave combo oven, a fridge, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a coffee maker, a toaster and a kettle. It also has a window.

Hello, I am Serge. I do love this area of Paris, where I live.
Serge purchased this apartment in 2008
I am so happy to live in this nice area of Paris that I decided to buy an apartment just the street after : you are in the heart of the old Paris, with all amenities a short walk away. A friendly atmosphere, a beautiful environment, a lot of monuments (Louvre, Notre-Dame, Beaubourg, old Marais, Picasso Museum, ...), 2 mn from subway and buses, 5 mn from small stores and main stores, ...
Charming and nicely decorated apartment, it is perfect for a family till 4 people, with all the comfort (elevator, internet Wi-Fi access, free international calls (except for mobiles), international channels on a flat-screen TV, ...
I wrote a review, twice, but VRBO didn't like it both times and rejected it. We loved staying at your apartment on Rue des ecouffes. The location was perfect, the apartment suited our family well, both of the gentlemen who greeted us were kind and generous with their time. I would rent it again if and when I return.
We stayed in this apartment in Mid July. The apartment is wonderful, very clean, great amenities and wonderful location. The apartment building was great also and had a small elevator so we didn't have to walk up. For a one bedroom it is spacious and comfortable accommodated my family of 4 (2 adults, 4 year old and 1 year old). Serge also provided a travel cot for my 1 year old. Oliver, the apt mgr, is very helpful. We called him on our way into the city and he met us very promptly at the apartment and let us in. I would highly recommend this apartment. There is a club across the street that had music one night, it didn't bother me or my kids.
Very nice quick stop for us in Paris. Perfect location and the efficiency and promptness of Olivier was much appreciated. Very quiet area, yet easy to get to things. The apartment was just as we had hoped. Thank you!
We stayed at this property in late August 2013, and found it to be ideal for what we needed. We had space for us and our 2 small kids and also a kitchen area and free Wi Fi. There is a bakery down the street as well as small food vendors and little shops. You can walk around the area and there are literally dozens of shops and stores. There's a full grocery one block away. The building has 2 coded doors to ensure safety. Serge and Olivier were great and attentive to our needs and helped us understand how everything worked. We had a great stay and would stay here again.

Apologies for not leaving this review earlier Oliver and Serge!! It wasn't until I started looking for an apartment [not in paris] for this summer that i realized i failed to leave my review!
Well, where to start? My husband and I honeymooned in Paris 15 years ago and stayed in the Marais, so we knew we wanted to go back... this time with 2 children in tow!
From start to finish this was a positive experience... Serge was very easy to communicate with even though we were overseas... and Oliver was a pleasure to deal with once we arrived at the flat! The apartment was in immaculate condition with great style... and you couldn't ask for a better location. Close to shops, restaurants and the Metro. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and likely will in the next few years! Thank you again!
It was my first visit to this beautiful city and i only wanted it to be more localized rather than to see from eyes of visitors so my boufriend and I decided on apartment rental. Serge's apartment is one of a few among the VRBO flats to allow partial week rental. The first thing I look for from a rental flat was its interior look and feel. The photos attached are all true to reflect the nice and cosy atmosphere it would bring to your stay in Paris.
The open kitchen is a plus, with a small oven, a dish washi machine and all utensils ready for you. They are making our homemade breakfasts and dinners much easier.
Must mention that the elevator in the building adds value to the apartment since you will regret it if you are carrying heavy or big luggages to Paris.
Location is surprisingly good with St Paul station of Metro line 1 just a 3-min walk away. You will find supermarkets, Internet cafe (in case you need to print or photocopy) and restaurants easily in the neighbourhood as well.
In short, I will definitely come back to this apartment with future visits. Thanks Serge and Olivier.
Three of us stayed for 1 week and enjoyed the apartment very much. We appreciated the owner's gracious hospitality. The apartment is beautiful and in a fabulous location. We were especially grateful for the fact that the owner's agent was waiting for us right outside of the apartment to greet us when we arrived and another agent helped us get a taxi to the airport early in the morning when we left.
