Our Desert Location::
BORREGO SPRINGS SPECIFIC LOCATION: Google Earth or Map Quest 1416 Sarasota Drive, 92004 for our location.
Prehistoric Sculptures: Local benefactor Dennis Avery has brought fun and history to town, erecting life-sized sculptures of prehistoric animals that once roamed the area on his Galleta Meadows properties. Pick up a map at the Chamber of Commerce and discover these handsome metal creatures by sculptor Ricardo Breceda. Several sculptures are located adjacent to the WindGodBird house.
Come Stay at the WindGodBird:
AMENITIES: Sleeps 6 adults/children in 3 bedrooms, all queen beds. Our house has 2 baths, a wood burning fireplace and a two car attached garage available, upon request.
Check-in is about 4:00 p.m. and check-out is 11:00 a.m. If you need different times, please let us know in advance.
This open and roomy one story House is fully furnished and can accommodate six individuals. The master bedroom has a queen bed, walk-in closet and attached bath. The second and third bedrooms have queen beds with shared bath. For your comfort, the house is conditioned with ceiling fans, cold air and heat and most rooms are wheelchair access friendly.
Expanded Lineup Cable TV and Free Internet WIFI access is provided, optional during summer season.

What a great vacation we had in Borrego Springs. Richard's home was just right for a quite getaway vacation. The house is new, and has all the conveniences you could want, with a nice kitchen and a spacious living room. Thanks Richard. We would definitely like to return soon. The dictionary describes the desert as a wasteland, barren region, desolate, but as we sat outside the master bedroom patio, at the Windgodbird home, what we saw was far from that. This home provides beautiful views of the mountains, desert flowers at your door step with trails leading out to the deserts, an ever changing sky, and the silence of the day and night that is only disrupted by a desert palm tree blowing in the wind, or the sound of a bird or coyote singing . The Windgodbird home was a fabulous place.
Ski:
HOUSE EXCHANGE OFFER: We will consider exchanging either of our Vacation Rental Houses (we have two in Borrego Springs), up to two weeks of use or ?, for use, now or later, of your vacation rental, boat, house or condo anywhere assessable by major airlines. My wife and I like to travel, we are experienced sailors, and will consider most places, prefer Canada or other destinations. International travel trips include: Turkey, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Burma, Dubai, Porto Rica, BVI's, Bahamas, Tahiti and London. USA trips include: Hawaii and most of the USA. Richard, I can tell you that my wife, our two young children, and I had a wonderful time at your house in Borrego Springs. The house was close enough to town to be convenient but far enough away to be away from it all with uninterrupted views in every direction. Our children loved the fact that we were only 100 yards from 'Windgod II'--the 16-ft statue of a bird. The cactus and octotillo were in bloom and we could look out our bedroom window door and see for 20 miles. At night the stars we saw constellations we never even knew were there. The house itself was in beautiful condition and much more upgraded than we would have imagined, with wood floors, elegant carpeting, and tasteful decor. The owner Richard was easy to work with and made our weekend trip a breeze. We will definitely be back! Thanks again, Rob & Monisha
