FRIENDSHIP HOUSE

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful time at Friendship House. The house was large enough to have space to yourself but small enough to have that cozy cottage feel. We loved the kitchen and living area. The house was clean, well equipped, and comfortable. There were excellent instructions left by the home owner for everything that you needed to know. We particularly liked the outdoor space. We loved the porches and the gazebo and the little creek that ran through the front yard. We walked some everyday around the house and up the hill and filled our lungs with cool mountain air. The house is close to both Boone and Blowing Rock. We enjoyed getting to our Blowing Rock destinations from the parkway. We had previously spent our time in the mountains at a B&B. Never again. We loved renting a house but most importantly, Friendship House.

MOUNTAIN CABIN

  • 5 of 5
Wonderful, rustic escape. We enjoyed our stay at the Friendship House--relaxing on the porch, enjoying the scenery, and watching our 2 year old play in the sandbox. The house was large enough to share with another family without feeling crowded. The drive into Blowing Rock seemed longer than we expected, but it wasn't far, and we are used to city living. Blowing Rock is a charming town and we loved the park in the center of town. Our only criticism would be the grill which was outdated.

Owner's Response: Yes, the grill !! We had complaints about the gas grill that we used to have due to complications of guests refilling the gas tanks. Two years ago we replaced it with a charcoal grill and so far, so good. I know its old fashioned, but it seems to be easier on our guests than going into town to refill the gas tank if it runs out on their stay. There are four different ways to drive into town, so if it took more than 7-10 minutes, then it sounds as if I need to leave directions to town in my welcome book. Thank you for your review ! Julie

MUCH NEEDED FAMILY GETAWAY

  • 5 of 5
We traveled from the other end of North Carolina, Beaufort to be exact, along with some friends and other family to take our small children to Tweetsie and Grandfather Mountain. You never quite know what to expect, and especially with small children, you want the perfect set up to be comfortable. There were 5 adults, and 4 children in our party, ages 2-7. We were all VERY pleased. Everyone had plenty of space yet it was, also cozy. We felt at home immediately, and did not want to leave. The children had a ball playing on the grounds, hunting for snakes, bears, and deer!!! We did see plenty of deer, thankfully, no snakes or bears, but my 7 year old wants to "Buy the house, and live there forever."
Although we will not be buying the house, we will be returning and hope to make it an annual trip. Thanks to Julie the homeowner for her clean, comfortable, well equipped home. You will not be dissappointed.

BREATHTAKING PLACE !

  • 5 of 5
The house is located in the mountains with the most stunning views in the area, great for family with kids. Well equipped and is the perfect place to revitalize your spirit. The excellent customer service of the owners made the perfect vacation time “like home”. The place is clean and well maintained. I highly recommend this wonderful cabin.

Thank you Julie Warner, we had a great time!

Sincerely,

German Vasquez

ESCAPE FROM THE WORLD

  • 5 of 5
You feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere when staying at the cabin, although, in fact, there are other houses just over the hill. It feels very secluded and private - a very good place to recharge your batteries if you work in the city. The house is well equipped with everything you could possibly need, including a sandpit for our granddaughter. There is plenty of room for children to roam and adults to lounge. The owner could not have been more helpful and pleasant to deal with. All in all, I would highly recommend Friendship Cabin.

GREAT LOCATION!

  • 5 of 5
My family stayed here for 2 weeks in August and everyone enjoyed it! The cabin is clean and charming and looks just like what is pictured. We were only 10 minutes to Blowing Rock or Boone which was very convenient. I took my children to the city pool in BR which they LOVED and to the Children's Playhouse in Boone. The house is great because you are removed from the street. My kids could play outside without me worrying about traffic. The owner was easy to contact for questions and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

Car: necessary

Our property offers you the quiet and privacy of being in the country with cool mountain breezes and the gentle melody of the creek in the front yard. We are centrally located ten minutes from shopping in Blowing Rock as well as Boone. You can ski, golf, hike, river raft, see a play, attend a concert at the university, visit one of the many galleries or take your children to Tweetsie Railroad Amusement park. This is a resort area with plenty to do. Then again, why not do nothing in front of the fireplace or on the front porch in the porch swing?
