What a perfect getaway we had at this chalet!! These owners really know how to create a getaway experience. Everything we needed; clean, comfortable, quiet, more then enough quality linens. The kids loved the loft and we all enjoyed the fire place and dramatic view of cathedral ledge. Beautiful trails within walking distance and skiing minutes away. We enjoyed a snowy hike to the top of cathedral ledge for an amazing winter view, and a day of skiing at Bretton woods. Owners had excellent and considerate communication. We can't wait to go back. Thank you, thank you!!!
I've been renting in North Conway for 8 years and this is by far the best property I've stayed at.
Very nice chalet. Clean and close to restaurants as well as supermarkets in case you decide to make good use of the fully equipped kitchen. It is private and although the units on both our sides were occupied, they were far enough with trees in between that we felt secluded enough. The view from the porch is nice and as shown in the picture.
This is a great little A frame cabin. We stayed here with our 6 and 8 year old children. The kids stayed up in the loft (a queen sized bed and a fold-out couch) and we stayed down in the bedroom. It's warm, cozy, clean and comfortable, with nice sheets and comforters (not the old polyester quilts and cheap sheets often found in house rentals). We would definitely stay here again. Only note for families: the stairs to the loft are very steep, so it would be hard with toddlers or younger preschoolers, although there are safety gates. I wouldn't want to sleep on the pullout couch as an adult (it's not a pullout couch exactly-- more like a futon made of leather), but it's fine for kids. Only suggestion-- we were forced to bring out skis inside one night (it was going to rain) and we didn't want to leave them on top of our car to get rusty. We were very careful, but one of those wooden ski hanging racks would be nice and wouldn't mark up the walls. We used a little drying rack for mittens and wet outdoor gear in the evening.
But those are tiny things-- we really loved staying at the house and would definitely stay again!
We loved the chalet! It was very clean, well maintained and was close to town, yet in the woods. Perfect combination of being close to conveniences while offering the tranquility of being in a cabin like home in the woods. We stayed the week between Christmas and New Years and would certainly stay there again. I am a clean freak (as is my daughter) and when we walked in we immediately felt at ease with the cleanliness of the home. Towels and sheets were provided and we felt comfortable using them as well. We highly recommend this home.
I can't say how much I absolutely adore this place! Everything about it was wonderful!
From the moment we arrived we felt at home - the chalet was clean, warm, comfortable, well decorated and inviting. I honestly have no complaints. I really loved getting up at dawn and sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee, just listening to the tranquil woods and the birds chirping and fluttering around. It was so peaceful. The view from the porch of Cathedral Ledge was also quite stunning. We enjoyed watching rock climbers tackle the climb to the top. At night the sky was clear and there was no light pollution - I could see the starry sky perfectly and I even glimpsed a few shooting stars. It was the perfect combination of peaceful and serene, but close enough to North Conway that you could quickly get into town for dinner, shopping or entertainment.
We also enjoyed the close proximity to Cathedral Ledge, Diana's Bath, the Kancamagus highway Highway and Mt. Washington, which provided us with ample hiking opportunities. The best part was returning after a long day to a comfortable couch where we could relax in front of the fire for a bit before retiring to an equally comfortable bed.
Chris and Pam were great with communication and were lovely "hosts" from afar. They truly have created a wonderful space for people to relax, or to enjoy some time with the family. Even though we didn't have children with us it was obvious that the chalet is more than equipped to handle children or babies, and I'm sure any child would go wild over how cool the loft area is.
I would absolutely recommend this property to my friends and family, and I hope that I can return soon!
If you choose to visit (and you should!), the local restaurants that we enjoyed and recommend were: MOAT Mountain Smokehouse and Brewing Co, Taste of Thai, (dinner) Stairway Cafe, The Blueberry Muffin Restaurant, (breakfast) and Fire 21 Pizza in Conway for a quick slice! Either way take your time walking on the strip and enjoy the shops and the scenery.
