We really liked the location. The Cottage was clean and very cozy. Just a couple minor issues, each of which there was either nothing that could be done or it was too late at night to address. The first was, though very glad the A/C worked as well as it did, the one unit was so noisy that we had to shut it down at night to sleep. And the second issue, there were two air beds in the closet, we needed one on the last night, neither had a charge to inflate and not charger in room. We used the hair dryer to fill one, but during the night it all leaked out. The other is missing one of the caps to plug it. Even with these issues, I would recommend to anyone to stay here! We are a casually planning our next visit and will see if the cottage is available. Doesn't hurt that the pub two doors down holds crawfish boils Fridays!
I'm reluctant to write "too good" a review and prefer to keep this place a well kept secret. The cottage is comfortable and in a fabulous neighborhood . Not fancy but has all the amenities needed. There are several wonderful restaurants within walking distance. You can also walk to the street car or there is plenty of street parking if you choose to get a rental car. I love that I can take my a.m. Run over to Audobon Park.
I love staying here, everything is on point. Very friendly, an inviting. Close to all the happenings
This is a great location, and great "home-base" while visiting New Orleans! I was in town from Baton Rouge for a week with my family during the Holidays and the Cottage was exactly as described. The Cottage does sleep 4. Due to the square footage however, if you plan to spend any extended time not sleeping, it is more suited for 2. The owners are responsive to all requests and happy to assist in any way they can. I had my dogs with me and the area is great for short or long walks. I would definitely stay here again!
My daughter and I stayed in the cottage while in town for a cheer competition. It was perfect for the two of us! We walked to several local restaurants, all within 2-4 blocks of the cottage. Close to the street car, we were able to hop on for a ride to the French Quarter. Being from New Orleans, I knew this was a very safe part of town. Will be great when we come back for a college visit at Tulane. Right before we came down we found out my brother-in-law bought a house two blocks away, so this was the perfect location for us. Owners were very pleasant and easy to work with, we will be staying with you again in the future.
My sister and stayed here while visiting our kids at Loyola. It is a wonderful neighborhood. The cottage is so nice and we felt very secure. They provided an extra bed so one of did not have to sleep on the sofa. It is within walking distance to restaurants and Audubon Park. Caesar and his family are very easy to work with. It is great to have the kitchen.
We would stay here again!
We are located in a residental neighborhood that is 5 block walking distance to Tulane University. We are just behind the Maple Street shopping area, home to some of the best restuarants and shopping in New Orleans. PJ's Coffee, Maple Street Patisserie and Starbucks are literally a 2 minute walk from the property. As well, fine dining at Cote Sud (French Cuisine), the Maple Street Cafe are excellent for dinner. The Freret Cafe is a perfect breakfast spot and 1 1/2 blocks from the residence.
Other Activities: Walk to the nearest streetcar stop to tour historic St Charles Avenue on your way to the French Quarter; a 20 minute ride. Not to be missed!
Golf: Audubon Park has a beautiful but small golf course.
