Great Price 3 Bedroom Malibu Zuma Beach House

We booked to stay at this property for 10 days in October 2011 after reading the description and other reviews. Unfortunately, after 24 hours we realised the property wasn't suitable for us to stay in and we had to organise alternative accommodation. There were many things we found unacceptable, including a terrible odour coming from the kitchen area, crumbs left on surfaces, a dirty floor and general dust and dirt in various places. Another issue was the number of breakable objects at floor level placed around the property. After booking the owner told to us that the property had a self-contained apartment, however on arrival it became apparent that there was no self-contained apartment, just a hallway with a large piece of polystyrene fitted into the gap. This archway can be seen behind the piano in some of the photos. We had informed the owner of the ages of our children (6,3 and 1) before booking, yet after explaining the reasons we needed to move, she told us in an email that she certainly wouldn't represent the house as toddler friendly. We feel that she should have informed us of this when we told her how old our children are. We contacted the owner to see if we could come to a compromise on the rental we had paid, however sadly she felt unable to refund even a token gesture. We moved to another VRBO property and throughly enjoyed the rest of our trip, in a clean, comfortable environment.
