farewell

My 70 year old father had battled cancer for several years. He was told in late June 2011 that there was no other treatments available for him. His desire was to return to Croatan National Forest which was a favorite family vacation site that we went to over 30 years ago. We immediately began the search for the perfect vacation spot and found the Crystal Coast Cabin. We were blessed to get to spend the week at the cabin with him. The cabin is both beautiful and centrally located. He watched the 4th of July fire works for the cabin's pier, he toured Fort Macon, enjoyed a day at the Aquarium, was able to use his metal detector once last time (a favorite of his), watched his children and grandchildren catch crabs and shrimp from the dock, rode a boat to Shackleford Banks (his favorite), enjoyed the beach and fed the seagulls one last time. All of these memories were GREAT but just getting him away for a few days and being with him in the peaceful cabin were just as GREAT!!! Daddy passed away a few weeks later but never stopped talking about his last trip to Croatan and how nice the cabin was. My family definitely plans to vacation at the cabin again! Nastasha was wonderful working with us on last minute reservations. GREAT RENTAL EXPERIENCE!
