Gorgeous waterfront log cabin in the Crystal Coast. A relaxing get-away within 25 minutes of ocean front activities. Perfect for couples, families, fishermen, and anyone who wants to relax and enjoy life and the beauty that surrounds. It's tucked between the Croatan National Forest and the Newport River Bay.
Unique to this property are the rustic log cabin walls, hardwood floors, a wood burning fireplace and comfortable chairs for an ideal retreat. Find open common areas, a fully-furnished kitchen, and a large waterfront deck. Views of sunrise, shrimp boats, and crab point across the bay are admired from big picture windows and the deck. A platform tree house is built in a large oak tree next to the deck.
The 150 foot private pier is for fishing, shrimping, crabbing, kayaking, or watching egrets, crabs, and other native North Carolina wildlife along the protected coastline.
Main level of the cabin. Large water-facing picture windows in open living area and kitchen/ dining areas. Magnificent view of the water. A large full bathroom and the master bedroom are on the main level.
Two bedrooms, a large bathroom, and an open social area. The upper level balcony in front of the bedrooms also has a waterfront view. The upstairs social area and bedrooms overlook the lower level living area.
Note for boaters: At the pier, there is no ladder into the water, and the water depth at low tide at the end of the pier is only inches of water. During low tide, the pier may not be accessible by water for motorized boats, and may be grounded if docked. The entire river basin is two to six feet deep, and best suited to kayaks/canoes or smaller low drafting boats.

Owners Scott Wyckoff and Natasha Wyckoff are continuing the dream of their mother to create a beautiful peaceful retreat for all to enjoy.
The cabin is on the waterfront, tucked in the Croatan National Forest near Mill Creek.
Natasha Wyckoff purchased this cabin in 2002
Our mother chose this area for the waterfront, open land, and privacy. She and others spent 4 years building this cabin. Susan labored over cleaning up the land, rebuilding the pier after a previous hurricane, selecting and cutting cedar wood to create the cedar closets in the bedrooms, and finding the perfect hardwood flooring to further beautify her cabin.

This was the best extended weekend our family has experienced in a long time. The log cabin came equipped with everything we needed. It exceeded our expectations in every way. Our sons were able to kayak and enjoy the tree house. We loved the view of the water and can't wait to go back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin . We had a awesome Thanksgiving dinner, several nights of playing board games and cards with our kids and explored the surrounding towns during the day. I'm so thankful of the memories we made :-)
My husband and I came down with a group of friends to fish, relax and shop. It was an added bonus that the guys could fish right off the dock while we relaxed underneath the gorgeous water oaks. The neighbor was very, very welcoming and even leant us his fishing net. The guys went on a successful fishing charter out of Beaufort on Saturday and us girls went to historic Beaufort and Morehead City for shopping and a delicious lunch at the Ruddy Duck. This fishing trip is an annual event for us and we definitely want to come back. My only regret was that it was too warm for us to enjoy the lovely fireplace!
We loved it and wish we could have stayed longer. There is so much to do in the area. Enjoyed meeting the neighbors , lovely people and most helpful. Very well maintained and helpful owners. I will certainly recommend (and have already) the property to friends.
The cabin was very clean
The owner was very nice
And I do plan to go back sometime
Relax, reconnect, and recharge at this peaceful getaway without having to "rewind". All the modern, fully stocked amenities of a home away from home...on the water! Step off the back porch and stroll out to the solid and sturdy dock...dangle your feet across the sides, cast a line, or even fish for crab. Atlantic Croaker and Blue Crab were on the menu for us, fished feet from where we ate them. The two iPod, iPad, and iPhone addicted boys admitted they just couldn't find an app that could compare to their weekend trip! They woke us up in the mornings in awe of the Coastal Carolina sunrise they viewed from what seemed like front row seats on the edge of the world. This truly is a place that every member of your family can enjoy; from the treehouse the kids just can't seem to leave for long, the charcoal grill for the BBQ master in your crew, the wicker lounging furniture for gazing across the water in true comfort to the board games and TV's for a rainy day or a night in.
If you decide you want to venture out across the Newport River to the beaches of the Crystal Coast it's only minutes away (so close in fact, we enjoyed an Atlantic Beach firework show without ever leaving the property). Spend the day exploring nearby Fort Macon, visit the Aquarium at Pine Knoll shores or simply watch the waves from the miles of beautiful coastline. And on your way back, grab some fresh catch from one of the seafood markets and prepare a feast in your fully stocked kitchen.
For the fisherman, the beach goer, nature lovers, and the adventurous, this vacation get away offers a stress relieving, fun filled and unique way to spend time with the most important people in your life; my whole family agrees. At the end of the day, as the warm glow from the wood burning fireplace cast it's last light, you'll know this is an experience you'll want to "re-live" again and again.
Atlantic Beach and Fort Macon State Park are just 18 miles away for the ocean beach and the fort. At Fort Macon, enjoy fishing, hiking, picnics and swimming as well as touring the old fort.
Morehead City and Beaufort boat cruises will escort you to the famous Cape Lookout lighthouse as you sail among diving dolphins and by the island wild ponies.
Experience deep sea diving for spectacular views of coral reefs and shipwrecks along the Crystal Coast.
