Come vacation at our family home in Oak Bluffs, close to town, but on a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle. The house sits on a corner double lot and has porches on three sides of the property. The house is located in the historic Copeland district where there is lots of space and a quiet setting. Both Circuit Avenue and the famous Inkwell beach are about a 7 minute walk away. The house is one block away from a playground, public tennis and basketball courts.
Inside the house, the whole first floor is living space with a kitchen, dining room that seats 10, TV/play room and a living room with comfortable seating for 8.The living room opens onto a beautiful wrap around front porch with rocking chairs and a hammock ,a great spot for morning coffee and afternoon sunsets. The kitchen opens onto a back patio and a screened in porch both looking over a large back yard .
Upstairs are four bedrooms arranged around a central hallway. There are also two bathrooms (one 1/2) upstairs. The bedrooms are ideal for families as there are two with pairs of single beds and one each with a queen and a double mattress. The bedroom with the queen bed has an attached 1/2 bath.
With town and the ferry just a short walk away, there is no need for a car, but the house does have a driveway and garage (complete with a basketball hoop) if you drive over.

You will be renting from Chris, Mark and Mary Culliton. In the picture Chris is on the left, and Mark and Mary are the two on the right (shown here with some close cousins). Mary and Mark live close by in the Boston area (Dorchester and Wellesley) and Chris is all the way out in LA. We always try and make at least one trip a year with all our families together at the house and otherwise sneak down whenever we can to enjoy the home we are so fortunate to own.
Our father bought this place in 1986 because he loved the Vineyard and loved spending time down there. He planned to retire there, but unfortunately he passed away before that and left the place to the three of us in 1996. My father was an outgoing and fun loving administrator at MIT where he not only led but also was active on the rugby club until the day he died. His spirit of welcome and joy is alive and well at the house. We all carry with us the belief that making time for friends and family is paramount and that a house is only truly alive if there are sounds of laughter and activity from dawn until well past dusk. The three of us have managed the rental of the property as a team since we took it over and love to share it with others.
The best thing about the house is how close it is to everything while absolutely feeling like it is tucked away from all the crowds. Walking or driving up to the house from Oak Bluffs, the first thing you see if the hammock swaying on the wrap around front porch and it is indicative of the feeling that comes over you. You know that you have put away your cares for the weekend or week or longer and that freedom awaits.
