Hiawassee is located along Lake Chutage and the Hiawassee River and there are many water activities to enjoy including boating, jet skis, a lake beach, tubing, and fishing. There are numerous waterfalls and hiking available. Brasstown Bald (Georgia's highest point) is 10 minutes away. Helen is just 20 minutes away. The Georgia Mountain Fair takes place in Hiawassee. There are also multiple golf courses.

Thanksgiving 2011 at the cabin

We met our daughter's family for the Thanksgiving holiday at this beautiful cabin. The rooms are decorated beautifully and the fireplace in the living room makes it so homey! We loved everything about this place. Being from Florida, we don't see much frost here. The first two days there, we had frost on the grass and large porch. My two granddaughters, age 3 and 5, were amazed seeing it and had to touch the frost. They also had their first fishing experience here at the river. We made so many happy memories and I'm going to scrapbook all of them. Since these two grandbabies travel quite a bit, we asked them later, which was their favorite vacation. They adamantly proclaimed the cabin here even though they had been on a Disney cruise in December. We loved it here and can't wait to come back. Thanks for the memories!

Christmas in the mountains.....

A vacation with all the comforts of home........
This cabin is amazing!!!!
The owners give you a start up supply of garbage bags,tin foil,saran wrap,toliet paper and paper towels...They even have salt/pepper,coffee filters and night lights..
I was really happy to see that the owners took the time to cover all mattresses and had extra pillows and blankets.

The mountain views are breath taking and if you happen to get up before dawn you might even have a chance to see deer along the river.....

My family and I had such a great time...We rented movies every night from the "RedBox" @ Ingles grocery store.My children had a chance to hang in the playroom every night playing fooseball and xbox together.

The owners even have a book with brochures of things to do in the area.....

The last thing I would like to say is ....If you want to make memories that will last a lifetime then this cabin is perfect!

We will be back one day.....Thank You for the wonderful memories:)

Playing in the mountains

What a goergous home and location. Everything was just as it was discribed, and more. We enjoyed the sitting by the creek behind the home as well. It was nice to sit on the back deck in rocking chairs sipping coffee as the sun rose on the mountain face. Breath taking beauty all around.
Location is great too. You can visit so many things easily from there. It seemed like we had a months worth of adventure crammed into one week, and we still didn't get to do everything there was to offer. Guess we will just have to come back.
We ride motorcycles and the roads around there are awesome for that. Doesn't matter which direction you go, you will have a smile in your helmet.
Good resturants all around too. One of our favorites is Brothers resturant on the way to young harris. Great ribs! I would also recommend the Chicken South Carolina. (hope my sweet wife can duplicate that receipe).

We look forward to staying there again.

Peaceful, perfect location and beautiful

I must say after our stay here I just had to leave a review. First, the house was beautiful, clean and was stocked with everything you need. We cooked and grilled the entire time and had everything we needed. The location was just prefect to great hiking, tubing, and just 20 minutes from all sorts of fun activities. When you walk out the back door of the cabin, you take a very short walk to the river bed which my son loved playing in everyday! We had the pool all to ourselves the entire time which was really nice. The entire experience was just wonderful. Our family will definitely be renting here again in the future.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
