The Mougle Lodge is the perfect retreat for a single person, a couple or a small family up to 4. Located on a large residential lot in Tahoe Donner. The property has 2 buildings. The Owners live in the mainhouse and the Mougle Lodge is a large 'Loft' cabin over the garage with approximately 700 square feet of living space for you to call home. The Lodge was recently remodeled and refurnished with beautiful highend Mountain furnishings and has a 4-poster queen bed and trundle bed to sleep up to a family of 4. Other features are hardwood hickory floors, highbeam pine ceilings, wetbar, gas fireplace, downstairs is a 'compact kitchen' with everything you need to cook your meals and a full bathroom. Off of the upstairs loft is a separate deck with a Bistro table and 2 chairs. Outside (shared) is a deck between the two houses with BBQ and patio table and chairs.Discount Guest passes for our Guests to enjoy the many amenities offered to Tahoe Donner Owners.

The Mougle Lodge is located at a private Residence in the Tahoe Donner Neighborhood. The 'Lodge' is a separate cabin from the main house, located over the Owner's garage. The location of the street of 'Mougle Lane' is on the bottom portion of the Tahoe Donner Association neighborhood. Roads are eventually plowed, however be prepared to always carry snowchains or have 4-wheel drive with snow tires during peak winter months.

We had a wonderful time at the Mougle Lodge. Some of the bigger things that we enjoyed were:
*The place was very clean and well maintained
*Nice layout- perfect amount of space for us (family of 3)
*Great access to Tahoe Donner facilities and Truckee
*All the amenities of home with the close proximity to lots of activities
*Very reasonable price (as compared to hotels and other rentals)
*Owner was friendly and responsive to questions about property

I would recommend this property to any couple looking for a quiet getaway in Tahoe!

Magical Snow

The Mougle Lodge was the perfect abode for us, first timers in snow . Trudy was such a gem of person.With storm approaching , her personal attention touched us most.We had booked for two days but seeing our predicament, she not only advised us to return early but also returned our advance.The lodge is a self-contained unit and also not far from grocery stores. Our daughter had fun at Truckee Donner nearby and we also went to Lake Tahoe.Our daughter was awestruck by the magical snow.Thanks to Trudy for a perfect stay though short.We look forward to going back in March with our friends.

perfect escape hideaway

I and my husband stayed here for 4 days between Christmas and New Years. It is conveniently located to multiple ski areas and the neighborhood is quiet enough for easy evening winter walks. The galley kitchen is big enough to make simple dinners. We think the layout is terrific and an clever use of the space.
Highly recommended for a stress release escape!

Great Place

Spent 2 days in Sept and found the place perfect for 2, comfy bed, all tastefully decorated and all comforts of home. Will be going back and would recommend for anyone with 2-3 people. Bed was very comfy!
Had several nice chats with the owners on premises-this is our second stay with these fine folks. Only reason rated 4 and not 5 is bathroom and shower downstairs as is kitchen and food prep area. Liviving and b/room upstairs and seperate. No biggie just the way it is laid out. Definitely would recommend.

Gem for Outdoor Enthusiasts

"The Mougle Lodge was the perfect respite for kicking off my retirement years. I was the fourth guest and spent 16 days there in July and early August, 2009. With a small, well stocked kitchen area, great flat screen TV, wireless internet, comfortable bed, small outdoor deck and two refrigerators plus one freezer, it contains all necessary amenities.

The location is ideal for the outdoor enthusiast. I fished several of the regions' lakes, plus the Truckee River during my stay. Access to hiking is also excellent. A big plus is the proximity to the town of Truckee, which has lots of character plus great restaurants and pubs!

Trudy and Mark were the most gracious hosts! It is important to know that while they live on the premises, there was never an issue of feeling that there was not enough privacy. The lodge is close to the main home, but Mark and Trudy were most respectful of the fact that I was on vacation!

I would highly recommend this little gem if you're planning a few days in Truckee to fish, hike, ski or just get away from it all!
