Gracious listed 17th century house- one of the finest buildings in Lectoure. Recognized by the Ministry of Culture as being of important architectural interest. After careful renovation over 10 years, it now offers 5000 sq ft of space, 18 feet ceilings and a number of spectacular original features- majestic stone staircase, fireplaces, cornicing, thick stone walls, terracotta floors and shutters. Views over to the Pyrenees. An elegant house combining historic features with modern facilities- eg new kitchen, laundry room, free Internet access, i Mac, satellite TV/DVD and lovely bathrooms including 3 huge walk in power showers. Private heated swimming pool in charming flower adorned courtyard garden and terrace. All amenities of Lectoure conveniently just steps outside the ancient 17th century stone arch and wooden courtyard door.

Our house is at the heart of the charming fortified hilltop town of Lectoure dating back to Roman times. Lectoure has a weekly market, a range of food shops selling local produce, a renowned thermal spa and a number of charming cafes, shops and restaurants. Local artists regularly host exhibitions. There is a stunning cathedral and archaeological museum- all on your doorstep. No need to drive anywhere. The surrounding countryside which the house looks out over is one of rolling fields and sunflowers. This is the least populated area of France, roads are empty and life goes on much as it would have done centuries ago.

There is a large TV with French and British sateliite channels , DVD player and a Nintendo Wii and an i Pod docking station There is a large kitchen with eating area wth all modern , high quality appliances ,interconnecting with a large, elegant dining room seating 13, a cloakroom and a cosy library with books, DVDs , iMac there is a fully equipped separate laundry room with original french tiles, washing machine and tumble drier . Beneath the house are a complex of extraordinary vaulted cellars dating back to the origins of the house in the 15th century Outside in the private, secluded courtyard,there is a large selection of deckchairs and loungers available for sunbathing on the terrace, a BBQ and a large outdoor dining table and chairs
