Photos and Description of the Thermopolis vacation cabin rental 3 bedrooms, 1 full bath, sleeps 7

This cozy, remote log cabin is a 40 minute drive from Thermopolis. (Nearest neighbor is 7 mi. away) Marvel at the spectacular vistas from horseback or hiking in the high country. Join us for our annual branding of calves in May. The grazing pastures in the higher elevations have scenic views of the Absaroka, Owl and Big Horn Mountains. Fishing on the Big Horn River for rainbow and brown trout or for brookies at nearby Bridger Creek is popular for guest. One can observe abundant wildlife including trophy mule and white tail deer, elk, antelope, beavers, prairie dogs, coyote, game birds and occasionally a bobcat and bald eagle. The Hot Springs State Park offers several indoor/outdoor hot spring pools, fun for the entire family. Tubing, canoeing, & white water rafting on the Big Horn River is available in town. Visit the Dinosaur Museum and take a tour of the current 'dig'. Or simply relax in the hammock tucked under cottonwood trees in the well manicured lawn at the 'Cabin'.

Further details for this vacation cabin rental in Thermopolis, Wyoming

Kids can participate in events at the annual July Ranch Rodeo in Thermopolis. Our ranch 'Branding' is usually held the first weekend of June. Grab an iron and give us a hand or watch the real cowboys do their job. Join us for the picnic celebration afterwards. Horseback riding or hiking on the endless cow trails guest can see abundant deer, antelope, elk, and game birds. Property owner can arrange with local guides full day or 1/2 day fishing trips on the Big Horn River. Fly fishing lessons and equipment included in guide fee.

Hunting: Mule Deer, Antelope, Elk: 8000 acres of private land combined with approx. 7000 acres of BLM & State land this ranch is a 'hunters paradise'! With year round running creeks, reservoirs, forage and shelter big game is plentiful. The past four years we have limited the harvest for mule deer on our private land therefore the herd have substantially increased. Trophy size pronghorns are abundant. In 2009 we joined the Wyoming Game and Fish Hunters Management Program. The program permits hunters to hunt and harvest antelope on our private lands for NO FEE. Visit http://gf.state.wy.us for specific rules and regulations as each landowner is different. Our ranch lies in the Little VH section and Mishurda Mountain Ranch section. Elk migrate through the ranches higher elevation during the fall and winter months. The majority are not trophy size and for this reason our hunt fee is much lower. We guarantee elk hunters a harvest. 100% of hunt fee will be refunded. Hunt Fees follow:

Hunting Fees: Deer- Area 37 & 39 $1800. one week Antelope- Area 76 No Fee, Elk- Area 48 $1300. one week The fee does not include accommodations. Please refer to Rates page of this website.
