This particular unit also has a view of the West Maui mountains through the large window in the living room. Papakea has significant acreage, and the buildings are only four stories high. Only the top floor units provide you with the cathedral ceilings and the loft area. The loft in our unit, H401, is furnished with a queen-sized bed, AND two twin beds. We did this to accommodate as many guest sleeping combinations as possible. The unit is air conditioned. However, because of the orientation of the 'H Building' to the West Maui mountains, you experience the fantastic, gentle breeze that naturally flows through the unit. Except for the very hottest month or two, we have found air conditioning to be unnecessary! What better way to enjoy Maui - the fresh mountain air and sea breezes. Maui is truly 'da best'.
Significant upgrades were made to the unit when we first purchased it in 1999 (new floor tile, new furniture, new ceiling fans, new window coverings, freshly painted, new wall sconces, etc.). Further upgrades were completed on September 6, 2009. A new over-the-stove microwave was installed, new countertops and faucets were installed in the kitchen and bath, and all cabinets were renovated. New sliding mirrored doors were installed in the hallway. The carpets and curtains were professionally cleaned. The unit is well furnished and in very good condition, ready for your arrival!
