The compelling views from the house will keep most people close to home. You can walk for miles on a spectacular sandy/pebbly/shelly beach, fish, clam, sail, boat, kayak, birdwatch, sit on the big deck and read a book or enjoy a fire inside to take the chill off in the winter. Everyone who comes here immediately relaxes and sleeps well. In less than a 10 minute kayak or walk on the beach you reach the creeks of the nature preserve where you can see foxes, deer, egrets, swans,ducks and abundant wildlife. Adventurous souls might boat across the bay to Riverhead or the North Fork towns.

The house is situated on a peninsula extending into Peconic Bay and surrounded by undeveloped parkland. If you ever find yourself wanting to leave the beautiful Peconic Bay beach just out the front door, you can drive to the Atlantic Ocean at Ponquogue Beach just 6 miles away. This beach is on a barrier island that has no private or commercial properties nearby. Hampton Bays is unique in that you can access the North Fork farmlands and wineries as easily as you can have dinner in a fine Southampton restaurant.
