Overview

Houston Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Two bedroom suite with attached garage and full kitchen. Sleeps five. One bath

Unique Bed and Breakfast Inn setting in the center of Houston, the fourth largest city in the U.S. The Museum and Arts District, also called Montrose, can be likened to a small community at the core of a big city. An excellent walking neighborhood, we have world-class museums, universities, an exciting downtown, hospitals, great restaurants, art galleries, parks, a fabulous zoo, old trees, old sidewalks, historic house etc.- all within walking distance or a short tram/ bus ride. Texas Medical Center, Downtown, Museums, Universities

Robin's Nest was founded in 1990, and today consists of three historical houses setting side by side. The 'Big Nest,' an 1898 Victorian; the 'Little Nest,' a 1920 Craftsman, and a 1938 stately two story brick.

For our long term stays over 30 days, we offer a much reduced rate, housekeeping once a week, and our guest for breakfast on the weekends (superb food and good conversation). For longer term stays we can offer a reduced rate.

General: Montrose (the Museum District) is one of the very few neighborhoods in Houston where one can exist blissfully without a car. Public transportation includes Metro Light Rail and/or Bus system. From the airports you can take the shuttle. Being in the inner city, taxis are ample.

Museums, art galleries, parks, the Westheimer bar scene, restaurants (casual to starred), are walkable. We're one-three miles from the Texas Medical Center (M.D. Andersen, Texas Childrens, etc.) Houston Opera, The Hobby Center, Alley Theater, Minute Maid Park, the Toyota Center, etc. We're across the street from the High School for Performing and Visual Arts, a world-class high school of budding artists.

We love and accept well-behaved children and pets: The dogs must be brushed down daily: outside, have all their shots, be comfortable with people (the housekeeper), and be kept in a kennel while you are absent. This is a well attended dog walking neighborhood.

Medical: We are two miles north of the world-renowned Texxas Medical Center. This includes, but is not limited to, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Texas Childrens Hospital, Park Plaza, Hospital),

General: Robin's Nest is a well established (20 years) Bed and Breakfast. Our compound consists of three historical houses setting side by side, c. 1898, 1920 and 1938. We have nine rooms/suites, four of which are suitable for longer term stays. Whatever you needs, we hope to a accommodate them.

  • The house was built in 1938. It has been well cared for, and Robin is only its third owner. She knew the original owner, who left only when she was 95. The bathroom is original to the house. It is a 'luxurious' 1938 bathroom, with interesting crooks and crannies. It is not an over sized, 21st century bathroom.
