The Village at Gruene Condominiums (pronounced Green) are the only condos in downtown Gruene - home of the world renowned Gruene Hall and Gristmill Restaurant. Built in 1878, Gruene Hall is the oldest continually running dance hall in Texas and music birthplace to many great songwriters and musicians including George Strait, Ace in the Hole, Jerry Jeff Walker, Lyle Lovett, Joe Ely, Robert Earl Keen, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Hal Ketchum, Bruce & Charlie Robison, and many more. This little music/tourist Mecca is small but chock full of shopping, dining, entertainment and river activities. Just park your car and everything is within easy walking distance of the condo. The condos are brand new in 2009 and have a great pool and waterfront area with picnic tables and BBQ grills. The architecture is pure Gruene as you will see the influence of old Gruene on this new construction. Even the elevator looks like an old water cistern tower.
