Chez Manany eco lodge is a concept of luxury vacation rentals with sustainable principals on Isabella Island, Galapagos.
Manany is tourism expert and Wilson architect, both Ecuadorian. We both love being close to nature and know from own experience the expectations and needs of our guests. We speak Spanish, English and a little French.
The eco lodge is located outside the small town of Puerto Villamil on Isabela Island in the Galapagos, next to a mangrove area protected by the Ramsar Convention and very close to the lagoon Concha de Perla - a tourist attraction for snorkeling in which you can see tropical fish, sea lions, penguins, rays, marine turtles and over 20 different species of birds.
Isabela is the biggest Island of the Galapagos Archipelago. The island offers a variety of tourist attractions, e.g. daily tours to Las Tintoreras, the Volcanoes and los Túneles, etc. If our guests want to relax, they can just walk on the white sand beach near to the lodge.
Apartments and Suite
The Eco lodge offers three fully equipped accommodations with kitchen and TV. Two large apartments are located in the new building and each can accommodate up to 6 guests. All apartments have superior quality standard, panoramic windows and large terraces.
The suite is in a wooden house on the ground floor and can accommodate up to 3 guests.
The suite has a living room area, American style kitchen, a bedroom with one big bed or two separate beds and a private bathroom. Chez Manany attaches importance to sustainable tourism to protect the island. In addition to the ecological construction we have added solar panels for the illumination of our entire lodge. Over that we have a water purification system with Ozone .

Chez Manany Galapagos Ecolodge is not only a marvelous place to stay but it is also responsible to the environment. One of our main goals is to support the conservation of the Islands and encourage awareness about its unique ecosystem, particularly Isabela, through sustainable approaches.
The first part of our project was to create an environmental-friendly house. The energy used for lighting is obtained through solar panels; the sewage water is treated through different systems. We separate grey water and black water, each has its own treatment plant with different sand filters and work with aerobic biological processes. Both of our buildings have their own treatment plant and by the end of the cycle we reuse the water in our gardens.
The water which comes from the municipality has also its own treatment in our house. We also use here different sand filters to clean the water of any unwanted particles or dirt and to kill all bacteria we have incorporated in our treatment plant an ozone cleaning system, which is more efficient than any other system known in the market to clean water. This clean water will be still salty but free of bacteria and ready for the use of our guests.
All rooms have enough natural light and ventilation through windows which have been previously planned and distributed in the apartments. There is no need of Air-condition or extra energy consumption.
It is also important to mention that Chez Manany only works with biodegradable cleaning products not only because of our principles but because our sewage water treatment plant works with biological process and any use of toxic or chemical substances may interfere with this process. We strongly request our guests not to throw any toxic or chemical substance into the toilets or sinks.
In the second phase of our project we would like to focus our strengths in Environmental education as well as for our guests and the local people of Isabella Island specially children and women.
Enjoy your trip knowing that your foot print will be minimum while staying with us!
Dear Manany !
thank you very much fro creating this wonderful ecolodge together with your husband! We were very lucky to find you on the internet. The place is even much more beautiful than we expected. We had nice and relaxing days here after our trips in ecuador and the cruise in the Galapagos Islands.
Isabela is a fine island, with lots to see; bike trips, along the coast to the wall of tears, with a lot to see on the way, like the juvenile tortoises drinking water from the rainpool in the middle of the road. The tintoreras excursion and the hike to the sierra negra and volcan chico. We liked the town with its restaurants and we were lucky to be here during carnaval.
We had a good dance at the beach under a satrlight sky! This is very special for people from Holland, where there is snow and ice at the moment. Thanks to this wonderful house we felt very much at home here.
Thank you for this and for all the good care and advise! Thanks also to Roxanna who gaves us a warm welcome as well !

We stayed with Manani and Wilson for just over a week, myself my wife and our 3Yo had great stay. The house was so close to Concha de Perla (amazing snorkelling, sea lions, 2m wide rays, turtles, marine iguanas get trapped there when the tide goes out- its sheltered and very special) that we could go there very early in the mornings or late in the evening, meaning that we had the whole place to just ourselves and the animals.
Manany and Wilson were really welcoming and warm, and we became friends over a BBQ at the house, with roasted wild boar from the highlands which Manany helped me to source when she heard I was a dedicated carnivore. Champagne, music, stories, -amazing- meat with good company.
I'd recommend this place to anyone, Chez Manany was a gem, cheaper and doubtless more ecologically minded and personal than the mid to high price range hotels in Isabella town.
What a beautiful place. The accomodation is as great as the pictures if you want to have a nice quiet place to rest and to visit Isabella, this is it. Manany and her husband are tremendous hosts. They were quite helpful and some of the nicest people we have met in the Galapagos.
My wife, my three-year-old daughter and I were lucky enough to stay at Manany for about a week. We were not surprised to find paradise-like beaches, exotic animals and lots of sun in Isla Isabela. Not for nothing they called the Galapagos the "enchanted islands". However, we were surprised to find a place like Manany, which combines comfort and exquisite taste without disturbing the local landscape. Mariana helped us plan our trip and it was very easy for us to communicate with her via Internet. Our experience with Mariana and our experience at Manany were absolutely positive. We would definitely love to go back. This must be a great place for a honey moon or someone looking for some peace.
My Husband and I had a wonderful week at Chez Manany at the end of August. Mariana was so helpful from our first communication with her regarding our stay. She answered our many questions and booked our flights from Baltra to Isabela for us. The photos and descriptions of the property are more than accurate and we found we were just able to relax, especially after a long flight from New Zealand and enjoy the wonderful peaceful surroundings. By the time we left New Zealand we felt Manany was a friend and this proved to be more than the case by the time we left Ecuador. Chez Manany is about a 10 minute walk to the main part of the town where there are some local restaurants and beautiful beaches there and beyond. We hired the bicycles to cycle to the Wall of Tears, a wonderful ride stopping off at the many bays along the way, not to mention avoiding the tortoises and iguanas sunning themselves on the roadside as we cycled past. Isabela is a quiet island, very safe and is just the place for peace and relaxation. The property was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and is just a short walk from the very picturesque boat harbour. We would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet getaway to enjoy nature at its best, with no worries about sea conditions!
The best time and place ever. We can´t wait to come back to Isabela Island specially to chez manany place, very comfy and well located suite. Thank You Again manany for the amazing and unforgatable experience.

This home provided a quiet getaway for us. We thought the place was nicer in person than it was in the pictures. It is located very close to the dock where we arrived and a lagoon for snorkeling. It is walking distance to the beach and town. The hostess was so helpful and gave us a personal tour of the town. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare breakfast we enjoyed on the deck. It was extremely clean and comfy. I would stay there again

The stylish and ecological apartments and suite are located close to Puerto Villamil town, in the Galápagos Islands, next to a mangrove zone protected by the Ramsar treaty and just five minutes away from one of the most beautiful snorkeling sites in the Island, Concha de Perla.
