A very special house!

Although this property is exactly as described in the listing, no description can adequately convey how comfortable and charming this rental house truly is. A meticulous, tasteful renovation has preserved all the character of a 200-year-old house (charming period details, furnishings, decor) and at the same time provides all the comforts of 21st century life (wireless internet, flat screen TV, cable, iHome, CD players, air conditioning). With thoughtful touches both large and small, the owner has anticipated virtually every need for long or short stays: fresh flowers on the dining table; a well-equipped kitchen; pantry staples (and more); beach gear (chairs, towels umbrella); comfortable outdoor seating, reading lamps exactly where they should be, hair dryer, plenty of drawer space, well-stocked linen closet, washer/dryer. While not large, the house perfectly accommodated our family (two adults and two boys, 12 and 17). The serene rear garden with both shade trees and open areas offers plenty of space and privacy. The location is superb: a short drive or bike ride (or longer walk) to both town and a bay beach, a bit longer drive to ocean beaches. The owner, who couldn't be more gracious and accommodating, provided superb directions and took care to leave lights on, etc. for our late arrival. We couldn't have hoped for a better situation and feel very lucky to have found this house!
