We stayed for 5 days with our 3kids. Place was so cute and my kids loved it! It had everything we needed! Did all our breakfasts and dinners there. Kids loved the wi-fi. Great location for so many places! We did Bryce, red canyon , escalate and Kodachrome to the north, zion, coral pink sand dunes to the south and all of the great forest hikes and lakes right behind in the Dixie forest. Cedar breaks was closed but in summer I'll bet it is all amazing! Could not have been happier! Store did not bother us at all and it was nice to have the convienance and the staff was helpful!
We visited Zion then booked a stay at the King Studio before heading onto Bryce the following morning. The place was perfect. Spotlessly clean. The owner was very helpful, even when I changed my plans last minute. Beautiful view of the stars from the little patio. One recommendation, eat in Zion or Bryce before heading out to this location. Very remote and the little store closed at 8:30. Also watch out for wildlife on the road.
Perfect little home base to explore southern Utah! All the conveniences are downstairs and after a day hiking the parks its nice to unload right at the back door.
We really, really, really enjoyed staying at this studio. Sure we heard some noise from the store, but after a couple of days we got used to it. The studio worked out perfectly for us, after we got used to the slanted walls that bonked our heads a few times. We loved being able to pull right up to the front door and load and unload, the fact that there was gas and supplies right downstairs, and that it was pretty much equipped with everything we would need for a few days (even Wi-Fi most of the time). All in all, the room worked perfectly for us and was at such a bargain rate that we felt like we hit the jackpot! It is just under an hour to Zion or Bryce, but we would definitely stay here again if we ever get the chance to visit Utah again!
My wife and I spent seven nights here and loved it. The studio was exactly as described. We're not into fancy hotels with mints on the pillow. We just needed a comfortable, centrally located base for our adventures to the area parks. We heard a little bit of noise from downstairs, but nothing that disturbed us. I have heard much worse in hotel rooms. Knowing that they were making homemade cinnamon rolls and bread for the steak sandwiches actually made us glad for the minor rattling of pans. Absolutely plan on eating in the Chevron one evening. The sandwiches were great. Then go eleven miles north to Cafe Adobe and eat there. I highly recommend staying here.
This place is clean and quiet (except for opening and closing of the store below, a very brief time each day). The kitchen area is very basic but you can still make meals with a combination of the charcoal grill and a two burner hot plate. Tiny refrigerator with no ice, but you can get ice from the store downstairs. You can literally park right outside your door, making it very convenient to load and unload. The ceilings slope on each side of the unit, and the bed is tucked under the slope. Just remember that when you get up in the middle of the night! At this price, it is not a bad deal, much nicer than a motel room. Although the property is centrally located between Bryce and Zion, it is not close to either. Allow an hour to drive to either park. Also bring food because you are several miles from any restaurant or supermarket. The store downstairs has basics--you won't starve but you won't have a three course meal either. I was unable to reach the owner the entire five days we were there, and there were a couple of issues we just had to live with. No help from the personnel in the downstairs store either. By the time we left, we had fixed the faucet in the bathroom that was almost entirely blocked, and we had to reach down inside the toilet tank and manually lift the valve to make the toilet flush.
