Staying at Hikers Rest gives you the relaxation and comfortable feeling we are all looking for on a vacation. The secluded cottage is elevated which allows you to look out over the beautiful Hapu ferns along with the Ohia rain forest. Relax and unwind by opening the windows in the morning and hearing all of the birds singing around you. Enjoy this brand new cottage with hardwood mahogany floors, vaulted open beam ceilings and many large windows.The cottage is also minutes away from Volcano Village where there are some great resturants and a short drive to the National Park. It really is enchanting!

Our Best Big Island Accomodation Hands Down

Hiker's Rest was our favorite accomodation out of 3 on the Big Island. We preferred it over the Sheraton in Keahou and the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel. Beautiful decor and craftmanship. Great location near Volcanoes National Park. Good value. Easy to book and the owner was quick to reply to all e-mails. I was sad to leave and would return in a heartbeat.

Wonderful cottage

The cottage was adorable, very clean, cozy and private. It was only about a mile from Volcano National Park, yet felt a millon miles away from civilization. It was very centrally located for site seeing. The only negative would be the steep stairs to the loft which were very tough on arthritic knees. If it is a problem, there are two beds on the first floor. I would definitely recommend Hiker's Rest to others.

Paradise on earth!

We spent a wonderful week in this beautiful cottage. With our rental car we visit all the south coast of Big Island, and we were always happy to come back to the cottage for relax in the evening. This place offer you all you need and more! This is a very clean place, we really see that the owner take really care of there place.
Nous avons passé une semaine merveilleuse dans ce magnifique chalet! Avec notre auto de location nous avons pu visiter toute la côte sud de Big Island, et nous étions toujours contents de pouvoir retourner se reposer au chalet le soir venu. Cet endroit vous offre tout ce dont vous avez besoin et même plus! Cet endroit est très propre et bien entretenu. On s'aperçoit rapidement que les propriétaires prennent grand soin de leur chalet.

Beautifully crafted, well made cottage with superb attention to detail. Absolutely clean. Beautifully furnished. All the amenities you will need. Lovely private and peaceful setting. Highly recommended. After dark, from the porch, be sure and look down on the lava rock by the steps.

A Pearl!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks stay in Hikers Rest. It was by far our best rental yet and the perfect place on our second visit to the Big Island. We especially have benefit from its quiet location and all its amenities. We have been privileged to share that part of hawaiian paradise. Yours is truly a dream cottage and a real "pearl"! We sincerely would recommend Hikers Rest to our dearest friends. It is truly unique. Thanks again for the nice memories we gathered while staying over. We sure hope to visit again.
