Overview

Missoula Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage, Studio + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

If you're visiting Missoula, we'd love for you to consider staying in our guest house! It's a newly remodeled, vintage 1940s cottage in Missoula's desirable Rattlesnake neighborhood and it is absolutely charming!

This classic bungalow Cottage is quintessential Missoula. Located in the Lower Rattlesnake, one of Missoula’s most popular neighborhoods, the Cottage is just 2 ½ blocks to both Greenough Park and Mt. Jumbo. A lovely ten to fifteen minute stroll will get you to the University of Montana, (walk to the GRIZ GAMES!!!), Downtown Missoula, the Missoula Farmers Market, and the Clark Fork River. Hiking, biking, fishing, skiing, kayaking... plus, great shops, restaurants, museums, and parks... are all within walking/biking distance of our cottage!

With loads more personality than a hotel, the cottage is the perfect home base for those wanting to explore Missoula. Get away from MOST of it... no landline, limited television... but also enjoy wireless internet access, air conditioning, a Sony dock for your ipod, cooking tools, utensils, and appliances, nice artwork, and a super sunny deck which looks out over a park-like lawn and gardens!

The cottage has been FRESHLY REMODELED!!!Caesarstone and tile countertop in the kitchen, beautiful tile bathroom, gorgeous hardwood floor in the living/bedroom area, authentic Mexican tile in the kitchen/dining area and fresh paint throughout! Learn the cottage's backstory at our blog... www.cutelittlecottage.wordpress.com.

Note: While the ceiling in the Living/Sleeping Area is quite high and roomy (it's lofted), the ceiling in the kitchen is on a slope. It's a decent height for most of the kitchen, but near the sink and stove, if you are 6' tall or more, this may be a head-bumper for you. We want you to be comfortable and thought you should know!

A quick note on our Pet Policy: We love pets but ask that your pet be friendly. Pets are not to be left unattended in the cottage. Thank you for understanding!

We've been providing Missoula visitors with clean, cute, and comfortable lodging since 2009 and are proud to have been among the first vacation rentals in Missoula. We appreciate our guests, both first timers and returns, and we thank you choosing us!

About The Owner

Owners of the cottage are Jim and Jen Nave. We live in the main house in front with our son, our dog, and our cat. Jim bought the house and cottage in 1992 while a student at the University of Montana and I moved in in 1998. How we met? In 1997, a good friend of mine was living in the cottage and while visiting one day, my future husband came in to fix the shower. I thought he was cute and the rest is history!

I love the little cottage and often enjoy a glass of wine or two back there when it's unoccupied by guests... it's just a pleasant little get-a-way.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 1992

Why The Owner chose Missoula

We just flat out love Montana. We love everything about it. We're so close to fishing, hiking, skiing, and biking.... it's awesome. If you like the outdoors, this is the place to be.

We chose the Lower Rattlesnake because of it's proximity to downtown and Greenough Park.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We got to stay here on our vacation this year. It was awesome! We were able to relax, read books, watch movies (the store and video rental place were within walking distance). It was very relaxing. We hiked the "L", walked around Greenough Park and all downtown Missoula. We love it here - well-stocked kitchen - great accomodations, awesome atmosphere! Thank you for making our vacation special!

Comfortable, quiet, well equipped cottage in a convenient location

  • 5 of 5

I recently completed a week long stay in this comfortable cottage. I found the location very convenient and really appreciated the parking space, immediately adjacent to the rental. The bed was comfortable. While I never cooked a meal, the kitchen seemed to contain all the necessary equipment. The WiFi was fast enough that I was able to stream a movie on my computer one evening. The bathroom had adequate space, with a table that could be used for unpacking toiletries.

Cozy Cottage

This cute, compact cottage was a perfect place to land each evening after a busy day in town. It is well appointed and close to downtown and the I90 corridor. Best for a single couple who travel light! Mary, Anchorage AK

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cute cottage for two weeks and it was perfect! Close to town and the university. It has everything needed for two people and a great yard if you like being outside. It's close to grocery stores, laundry, hardware store, restaurants etc. The owners were great as were their pets! We will come back to this place next time we are in Missoula!

Safe and quiet

  • 4 of 5

My stay was just a stop on a long road-trip that I was taking by myself. Since I was alone, it was important for me to feel secure. My stay felt safe, convenient, and peaceful. The house is clean and modest and the bed was super-comfortable. Limited TV reception, if that matters to you. The space is small but I was comfortable as one person. The location is great!

Owner's Response: We're so glad that you were comfortable in our little cottage! I, too, often travel on my own and safety and peace of mind are super important to me. We are happy to be able to provide that here! We hope you'll consider staying with us again should you find yourself back in Missoula!
