Absolutely Perfect!

We loved our stay! Roosevelt Island is a truly unique experience. At first, we wondered if it would be inconvenient to go back and forth from Roosevelt to the city every day . . . but Roosevelt Island IS THE CITY. It takes all of 3 1/2 minutes to ride the tram (of course called a gondola instead at swanky ski resorts . . . sounds better to the ski crowd) from 60th and 2nd to the island. From the tram stop, you jump right on a cute red trolley that takes you where you need to go on the island and right to the front door of Donna's apartment building. Staying on Roosevelt made us feel like we were real jet-setters . . . jaunting around the city during the day and then heading home to our getaway island filled with parks, green space and beautiful views at the end of the day. The apartment itself could not have served us better. The sleeping area is sizable with a king bed and plenty of surrounding space and closets. The kitchen was more than accomodating, and the size was very unexpected for New York. This made meals easy and fun. What a treat to have breakfast or dinner overlooking the East River and Manhattan skyline! We were there for 16 days, so we really needed a place to feel at home and not cooped up in a hotel. This was it! Donna has enough DVD movies to keep you entertained for weeks. I recommend this apartment to the most select travelers. It was so much nicer than staying in a hotel because you feel like you can relax like you can in the comforts of your own home. You will make a mistake if you do not give this a try! I was lucky enough to be in the city a few weeks before booking my stay at Donna's. I was able to preview several apartments from the outside to judge the overall location. I knew the minute I boarded the tram that this was for us. The pictures of the apartment online said enough about the interior. It was the rest of my quick advance trip over to Roosevelt to know that this was the atmosphere we were looking for in New York.
